Qantas 737-800 VH-VXQ. Sydney Airport.

Retro Roo 2 - painted the same livery that featured on Qantas’ Boeing 707 jets from 1959 to 1961 – when the flying kangaroo helped revolutionise long-haul travel.

A fleeting visit to Tassie in April 2021.

Lockdowns, border closures, and $40 airport chicken schnitzels weren't gonna stop us!

I'll continue to add more as I go along.

Have just returned from trekking around Tasmania (and a short stop in Sydney), so of course, there are many photos to go through.

I'll post them up in their own album later on, but for now, I wanted to show you this photo of the Mt Wellington Summit.

The weather changes up there in an instant - only 5 minutes later I took another shot with no clouds at all, in full blue sky.

A trio of United States Air Force The Boeing Company KC-135 Stratotankers have been in Brisbane for the last day or so on exercise, and this afternoon decided to fly right over my house.

Based on the civilian Boeing 707, these were built in the late 1950s/early 1960s and are still in great shape, and will no doubt be flying for decades to come.

Sunrise at the Big Windmill, Stockmans Hall of Fame - Longreach Qld.

The weather was fairly mild when we were there in September, almost worthy of putting a jumper on at night. I can imagine this windmill has seen far hotter days than this one.

The Waltzing Matilda centre in Winton, Qld.

The original centre was destroyed by fire in 2015, and this new building was built in its place. Built as a tribute not just to Banjo Peterson and his famous poem, but to the early bushmen of Australia.

If you ever go to Winton, you have to go here. You won’t regret it.

I saw this windmill about 1km off the highway down a dirt track and figured it looked interesting, so we ventured down for a look.

Dry and dusty. Longreach-ish, Sept 2020.
