Hi, my name is Melanie Napier, but please call me Mel. I'm a friendly country girl at heart, having grown up on a cattle station in Millaroo, west of Ayr. My love of photography began as a child, snapping wildlife and birds - even if they often turned out as tiny specks once the film was developed (sorry mum!). That passion never left me. These days, I balance life as a full-time IT professional w

ith my creative heartwork: photography. From capturing treasured family memories to the beauty of landscapes and the professionalism of commercial shoots, photography is what keeps me grounded. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration and am lucky to share life with my wonderful husband, two grown boys, their partners and a beautiful granddaughter. What an absolutely incredible Masquerade Gala Event on the weekend! 🌟

Those who were there will know exactly what I mean... and if you weren't, you truly missed something special.

A huge shout out to Rose and her amazing team who left no stone unturned to deliver a night filled with glitz, glamour, and more delicious food than you could ask for. Nothing was done by halves - every detail was simply stunning.😍

I'm excited to share this little bit of footage I captured on my new DJI Osmo Pocket (belated Christmas gift - because you can never have too many gadgets). I'm still learning, but I'm loving every bit of this clever little addition to my photography kit.

I'll be there on arrival to capture all the glamour, masks, and magic before you make your grand walk up the stairs to a night filled with delicious food, fabulous entertainment, and plenty of fun.

I'm so excited to be the photographer for the Masquerade Gala Event this Saturday, 28th March 2026! I can already tell it's going to be a night full of sparkle, laughter and unforgettable moments - and I can't wait to capture all the fun that unfolds.

A huge congratulations to Rose for dreaming up such a fabulous idea, and to her and the incredible team working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring it all to life. Let the masks go on and the magic begin...I can hardly wait! 🎉📷

A big thank you to the Burdekin Shire Youth Council for the opportunity sponsor the 2026 Fast Track Talent Showcase!

It was my first time attending and wow...I was absolutely blown away. 🌟 The talent on that stage was incredible and the whole night had such a great energy from start to finish. Congratulations to all the amazing performers and to the team behind the scenes who brought it all together - what a fantastic night. Just wow! 👏

There’s something special about a family session in that bright mid-morning sun.🌞 It feels like only yesterday I was capturing Samantha, Blake and Ashton as they waited for their little one…and I absolutely loved being invited back to meet and photograph their beautiful newest addition, Ella. 😍

A maternity session for Dale and Tash as they prepare to welcome their precious little one. There is something incredibly special about photographing your own child and his soulmate stepping into this new chapter of life. It isn't always the glances at the camera that tell the story...it's the quiet glances at each other. The way their hands rest on that very special bump. The way they are so completely in the moment that they don't even realise the camera is there. Those are the memories that matter most. My heart is so full watching these two already loving this little soul so deeply.

Such a beautiful wedding on the stinkiest hot day 🌞💍 The heat was next level, but not even the blazing sun could outshine the love these two share. I truly love capturing the moment someone marries their soulmate - the quiet glances, the happy tears, the hand squeezes that say "forever". It's always such an honour to be trusted with memories like these. What a day, what a love, and so worth every drop of sweat. 🥵🤍😍 Congratulations again Mat & Amber, and thank you for allowing me to share some of your favourites 📷❤️

Very excited to have finally got my act together to bring this to life! I have had the goal to design a Melanie Napier Memories & Photography (MNMP) shirt and I've finally got there - yay for the Christmas/New Year break! Featuring the horse image that won champion print of the Burdekin Show on the front and one of my all time favs on the back, it looks amazing (thanks Design Works Apparel for your final tweaking)!
