Do you struggle figuring out how to get out of AUTO mode on your camera?
I think we all have at some point!

Today I’ll be talking about your camera’s Aperture setting.

* Your Aperture functions similarly to the pupil in your eyes! It also gives those dreamy blurry backgrounds.
* In low light situations at a low setting it opens up very wide to allow as much light as possible into the camera. Think f/1.2 , f/1.4 & f/1.8 . I think f/2.8 is good as well
* In brighter scenarios, or if you’re photographing multiple subjects a higher f/stop is going to be best. Somewhere near f/4 does the job.

Note: a lower aperture also means there is a shallower plain for focus, this is ideal for no more than 2 subjects or used creatively.

Happy snapping!!

Do you struggle figuring out how to get out of AUTO mode on your camera?
I think we all have at some point!

Today I’ll be talking about your camera’s Shutter Speed setting.

* This setting is best remembered by the rate at which it captures the image.
* If you have a fast moving subject or want to get multiple images in quick succession you’ll want that bad boy high up at 1/600 or higher
* If you’re wanting to have some creative fun in low light situations, have a very still subject or simply want to let more light into your camera a slow shutter speed of 1/250 works well.

Happy snapping!! & keep an eye out for our next manual mode tip on Aperture!

Do you struggle figuring out how to get out of AUTO mode on your camera?
I think we all have at some point!

Today I’ll be talking about your camera’s ISO or exposure setting.

* The best way to think of ISO is to see how lit your subject or surroundings are, or if you’re using flash/strobes accompanying a darker setting.

* If you’re in a bright area or your subject is well-lit and in daylight conditions then you’d probably want this setting to be around 100

* In low light or night time settings you’ll need to bump it up to at least 1600 or higher, though be careful having too high of a ISO may cause unwanted excess grain in images.

Happy snapping!! ❤️

So this page has been unpublished for a while, while I've sorted some things out in my personal life.

I am now located in Melbourne, Australia as of 2020.

I would love to start doing some sessions for individuals or couples in the near future. As of now all sessions will be free as I haven't done a proper session in over a year and don't have an ABN yet.

cheers!!
