People often ask me who I’ve most enjoyed photographing in my career. I’ve always found it a difficult question to answer. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some remarkable people over the years, many of them extraordinary in very different ways. But the older I get, the more I realise it has very little to do with the photographs. It’s the conversations, the stories traded, and what someone leaves with you long after the shoot is over.
Every time I’ve worked with my clients, I’ve come away reminded of why the arts matter, why generosity matters, and why life is worth pursuing with curiosity and humour. What stays with me most is the warmth, the wisdom, the wit, and a gentleness far too few possess.
And perhaps this is also why we are the photographers for the people who choose us.
We don’t simply turn up and take photographs.
We take the time to get to know you. To listen. To notice the things that make you you. We guide you when you need direction, give you space when you need to simply be yourselves, and bring years of experience in lighting, composition and portraiture to every shoot.
Because beautiful but meaningful photographs matter.
But so does how you feel while they are being created.
