There's a few way to approach a shoot.
But the biggest thing to do?
✨BE YOURSELF ✨
These are memories of your life.
And by all means, it doesn't need to be. You can style the shoot. Have it posed, or you can dress up or do something unique. There is no limit.
But don't look past being yourself. Acting yourself. Loving the life you have.

The new luxury is loving yourself.
Caring about yourself in the skin you have.
Flaunting it if you dare.

You may be thinking this isn't for me. I could never.
But around 80% of my bo***ir shoots choose not to have images share. Understandable of course.
But! That means you aren't seeing that people ARE choosing to love themselves. More people than you think. And the words I always hear. "That was actually fun". "I'm nervous". "Omfg they are amazing". "Thank you for making me feel so comfortable".

The question is not why do it? It's why not!

You won't think so, but 99% of shoots, the clients will say the exact same things.
The main one without fail, is "not being photogenic", or "not knowing what to do", and to help them out!

Happy 4 years of Hayley K Photography being full time!
✨🍀
Honestly had to post a few celebratory shots because my soon to be 4 year old son took these photos and they are too good not to share (mostly from seeing his face, because he was so happy to do it)!
Whilst this all began nearly 10 years ago, back in 2017, you have all trusted me these past few years to keep this going full time. I couldn't be here without you all.

I've said it before and I will say it again. It is never too late.
People think bo***ir shoots are typically in their 20's. But in reality, it should be when you want to do something fun, something challenging, something from the bucket list, something for yourself, or your partner. The list is endless.
And throwing in a bit of chiko pinup is just the cherry on top.

It's not about the sunset. Not really.

It's about being completely present only with each other. If that is only 10 minutes.

Taking a step away from the crowd (I know you are there to party with them), as you will find yourself getting lost and drifting away from each other on the night to talk to the guests. Which is great, but the portraits let's you have that time together.

Instead, allowing a moment, in the rush, to experience life now married.

Part 2 ~ 5 things I may say at shoots that seem odd.

1. Kids your smiles are great. Adults not so much (adults worry about the kids smiling- meaning they are not! Eyes at me please)

2. If you're back isn't hurting you're not doing it right (I love a good arch in photos, sorry not sorry).

3. Move over a little. That was not a little! (If I show you 2 inches with my hand and you full step sideways, I may just manhandle you into the right spot. politely of course).

4. "Go again". (Yep I will let you know if I missed the shot due to settings etc).

5. You are not allowed to blink (large group photos and the constant blinking - take 20 photos only to get 2 with everyone's eyes open).
