A small moment, but a meaningful one.

Captured at the Lumbini International Festival 2026 in Bendigo, after a beautiful cultural dance performance.

I only caught a small part of her dance as I moved around the event, but her energy, traditional outfit, and presence stood out straight away. After the performance, I asked if I could take a few portraits, and she kindly agreed.

Sometimes the best photos come from a simple moment of asking, connecting, and appreciating the beauty someone brings to the day.

If you would like to book a session, send me a message or visit lensandmoments.com.

And if you have feedback, I would genuinely love to hear it. There is always room to grow, improve, and create something more meaningful.

🇳🇵 Lumbini International Festival 2026 – Bendigo

What a beautiful day celebrating Nepali culture, peace, community, and connection at the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion

When we first heard about the festival, we were genuinely excited. The same day, we already had another important event booked for Shara Collection, so it was a difficult decision. But in the end, we decided to be part of the Lumbini Festival — and we’re truly glad we did.

After speaking with the organisers, we were given the opportunity to create a small cultural dress experience where visitors could try on traditional Nepali outfits and take photos for free, with optional donations supporting Katha Hijo Ko an elderly project in Nepal.

With only around two weeks to prepare, everything came together thanks to Sister Shova Kunwar, who quickly organised and purchased traditional dresses in Nepal and arranged shipment to Australia just in time despite many challenges happening around the world.

On the day I was there, capturing moments as a photographer while my wife helped visitors with the outfits and stall experience. Not as many people tried the dresses as we first imagined, but the people who did truly enjoyed it — and seeing their happiness made us happy too.

The festival itself was filled with music, food, dance, smiles, culture, and incredibly friendly people. It honestly became one of the most memorable and meaningful stall experiences we’ve had.
A huge thank you to the Great Stupa team, organisers, volunteers, performers, and everyone who stopped by our stall and shared the experience with us 🙏

The Nepali New Year is not just a date for me.

It is a feeling.

The real Nepali New Year 2083 began on 14 April 2026, but here in Bendigo, we came together later to celebrate it as a community — and honestly, it felt special in a different way.
Before the event, my day had already started with a little taste of home. My wife, my sister-in-law and I made Chicken Sizzler at home. It took almost four hours to prepare everything — the sauce, chicken, fresh fries, vegetables and noodles. Maybe that is why it is still one of my favourite dishes. It has a little bit of everything, just like a good memory.

Later, I got to be part of the Nepalese New Year 2083 Bendigo celebration, organised by Nepalese in Bendigo at Huntly Memorial Hall.

There was Nepali food, familiar faces, elders, families, games, dancing, cultural performances, music, laughter, and that beautiful feeling of a community coming together here in Bendigo while still staying connected to Nepal.

Celebrating Nepali New Year away from Nepal felt different, but it also felt beautiful.

Respect to the Nepalese in Bendigo and everyone who helped make this evening possible.

A few moments I captured through Lens & Moments.
Happy Nepalese New Year 2083.

✨ Kalachakra Ceiling Project – Day 45 (28 August 2025)

The Kalachakra Mandala ceiling inside the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion has now reached around halfway completion.

What may look almost finished is in fact only 50% of the panels installed. Many intricate relief pieces are still to come, each one measured and placed with great care to create the full layered effect of this extraordinary mandala.

This work is the result of over 2.5 years of painting, with contributions from more than 60 artists and countless volunteers — a true labour of devotion, patience, and history.

The goal is to complete as much as possible before Khensur Jhado Rinpoche’s visit in mid-September, when he will consecrate and bless the ceiling.

Today was truly special 🙏 I had the chance to attend the public teaching by His Eminence Ling Rinpoche at the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion. His talk on compassion was eye-opening and deeply inspiring.

I was also allowed to capture some photos of the event 📸 — such a privilege to document such a profound moment.

Feeling grateful for the experience, the teachings, and the time spent at such an extraordinary place. 💙
