I could see the potential in this image as connection between father and son unfolded. I took half a dozen frames as the scene played out. Only problem was the first few frames mum had her champagne glass up as she took a drink and so blocking the interaction between father and son. I stayed on the shot hoping she would lower the glass. Finally just before the boy pulled away from his father she lowered her glass, not fully but just enough to capture this beautiful moment. By the time the glass was fully out of the shot the moment was gone. Sometimes you have to capture the moment before the peak of the shot just in case the perfect shot and perfect frame doesn’t unfold the way you want. This is what I call working into a shot and why photographers take many shots of the one scene.
