How to Photograph Your Baby at Home (Because I Get It 🤍)
Not everyone can book professional photos every month — and honestly, you don’t need to. You can capture beautiful memories of your baby right at home. Here’s how:
✨ 1. Use Window Light
Turn off overhead lights and move near a window. Soft, natural light is your best friend. Position your baby so the light falls from the side of their face — this adds softness and dimension.
🛏️ 2. Keep the Background Simple
A bed with a neutral blanket, a plain wall, or even your couch works perfectly. Clear the clutter. The focus is your baby, not the laundry basket 😉
👶 3. Follow Their Lead
Don’t force poses. Some of the sweetest photos happen when they’re stretching, yawning, or staring at you. Capture their personality, not perfection.
📱 4. Get Down to Their Level
Shoot at eye level instead of standing over them. This instantly makes your photos feel more intimate and professional.
🧸 5. Use Meaningful Details
Tiny fingers gripping yours. Milk-drunk smiles. Wrinkly toes. Those are the images you’ll treasure most.
📸 6. Take More Than You Think You Need
Babies move fast. Take a burst of photos and choose your favorite later.
And remember — the goal isn’t perfection. It’s preserving this season.
If you ever do want professional photos, I’m here for that too 🤍 But until then, you’ve got this.
