The final NPLW league game of the season before finals saw Melbourne Victory on Preston Lions Football Club.

After a closely contested first half, two quick goals in the second half proved decisive as Preston secured a 2-1 victory.

For Melbourne Victory, their first season in the NPLW comes to an end with a respectable 8th place finish and plenty to build on heading into next season.

Congratulations to Melbourne Victory - 2026 NPLW Under 20s Champions.

Heading into the final game of the season against Preston Lions Football Club, Melbourne Victory needed just a draw or a win to secure the championship.

After a closely contested first half ended 0-0, Victory came out firing in the second half, scoring five unanswered goals to finish the season with an impressive 5-0 victory.

With the final U20 NPLW game of the season now complete, here’s a look back at the crucial result that took Melbourne Victory U20s into the championship decider.

Victory went into their second last game against Alamein FC knowing how important the three points were to remain on top of the table. After losing to Alamein earlier in the season, Victory turned the tables with an important 3-1 win.

A crucial three points that set up a huge final game of the season against Preston.

A thrilling night of football as Berwick City SC faced Waverley City SC in a must win clash to keep their promotion hopes alive.

The two sides went into half time locked at 0-0, but Berwick came out strongly in the second half, opening the scoring from the penalty spot before adding a second goal to seal an important 2-0 victory.

The win keeps Berwick’s promotion hopes alive, with just one game remaining and everything still to play for.

A night of celebrations for Berwick City SC as they kept their promotion hopes alive with an important 2-0 victory over Waverley City.

See both goals from the match as Berwick City secured a crucial win.

A packed home crowd added to the atmosphere, and it was great to see and hear the Berwick City Ultras out in force, getting behind the team throughout the night.

Sunday’s NPLW clash between Melbourne Victory and Alamein FC was a crucial one in the race for the top six.

With Alamein needing a win to keep their finals hopes alive, there was plenty on the line. But Melbourne Victory had other plans, finding a late goal to secure a dramatic 2-1 victory and bring Alamein’s top six hopes to an end. A thrilling finish to a hard fought contest.

An unforgettable Friday night home game for Box Hill United in their VPL2 clash against Nunawading City Fc. It was a must win game for Box Hill, with a top six finish and a place in the playoffs on the line. With the game locked at 0-0 and time running out, Box Hill found the late goal they needed to secure a dramatic 1-0 victory.

One goal, three points and a place in the playoffs. What a way to get there.
