And they are off, away to our fav camping spot by the sea… but for the first time in 12 years, without me.
I won’t deny I’m more than a little bit sad, I love our family camping trips 🧡
I’ll just have to console myself with non stop Bridgerton!!!

PLASTIC MINIMAL

Sometimes plastic free is not an option, but you have chosen to be as plastic minimal as possible. Shout that from the rooftops too! Every step in the reduction of plastic is a step in the right direction!

This photo from a shoot for reflects their mission to use 100% recycled plastic along with products that are ocean friendly.

I took a day trip to Coochie Island and shot at the beach, using an old paint chipped boat as a prop and white fabric as a sail. It was a fun day out!

The photo tells the story of a product that is linked to nature and the sea, along with reflecting the Aussie beach vibe values of the brand.

Plus, I was lucky enough to keep the products from this shoot and they are amazing! I have to hide them from my girls because they love them too! Lucky for me, the salon over the road from me stocks their products so I can have an environmentally friendly walk to top up! 🙌🏻

PLASTIC FREE MATERIALS

Raw materials are a super simple way to highlight how plastic-free your products really are.

In this photo, you can see three spoons ready to be carved — each one labeled with the type of timber it’s made from.

To create the setup, I arranged the spoons in a row on a natural surface near a window with soft, diffused light.

A few wood shavings were added to subtly hint at the crafting process about to begin.

During editing, I enhanced the texture and colours, then resized the image for social media.

It’s a simple yet effective setup that anyone can recreate using just a smartphone and natural daylight.

Fabulous book recommendation incoming!

Are you a reader?

I have been a book worm for as long as I can remember, late nights under the covers with a torch reading ‘Children on the Oregon Trail’ as a child, long days on European beaches in my twenties reading trashy chick lit along side autobiographies of anyone I found remotely interesting, and in recent years a deluge of business and self development books… always with a trusty autobiography on the go (Bruce Lee by Matthew Polly is my current auto).

I have too many books in my Audible library to mention (606 titles) and I love every single one of them.

My most loved book is one I inherited from my Great Aunt when I was 18, written in 1896 and bound in leather, I have never read it… I just love everything about the physicality of the book, I’m sure it still has the lingering scent of my Great Uncle Eddie’s cigar smoke.

I tell you all this, because I believe it is a strong part of my storytelling identity, each book I read or listen to is translated into visuals in my mind, I ‘see’ every story that I read. Maybe everyone does this, I’m not sure, but for me it is one of my greatest joys… being able to create the visual from the words.

Which I why I have fallen head over heels in love with my latest read ‘Steal Like an Artist’ by . It speaks to my storytelling soul and has nugget after nugget of truths and inspiration about the storytelling and creative process.
