Snaps from a few November days in the eternal city (with a cheeky addition from Naples because why not)
No agenda, just walking, re-exploring and soaking the timeless beauty of this city. These are the colours and shadows I found along the way: a city that doesn’t need a filter, a golden hour that lasts all day, and streets that feel like they remember everything. Because they most likely do.
Some in colour. Some in black & white. All eternal.

Autumn doing its magic in the Blue Mountains 🍁
Even though we’re at the end of April (basically May), the weather’s been surprisingly clear and sunny, which makes all the seasonal colours here pop even more. I’ve really enjoyed getting out, making the most of these shorter but beautiful days, and capturing the little rainbow that nature’s been putting on lately.

End of summer vibe

Days getting shorter, light hitting different, nature slowly heading to sleep and everything starting to slow down just a little.
Not quite autumn yet, but you can feel it coming and changing everything around us.
(Feeling pretty lucky I get to follow summer to Italy and skip straight past this and winter though)

Another side of Melbourne, this time through its buildings, skyline and details.

From historic buildings to glass skyscrapers, the city feels like it’s constantly shifting depending on where you are and there’s always something new to discover, learn and admire.

Brighton Beach and its iconic beach huts.

Another thing that really surprised me about Melbourne is how many different sides it has!

Brighton Beach had the vibe of a small holiday town rather than being so close to abig city.
Everything was quieter, slower, more relaxed… like the pace of the city just softened for a moment.

And yet, you’re only about 30 minutes from the CBD.

Still trying to wrap my head around how one place can feel so different depending on where you are but that’s one of the many things that made Melbourne so interesting to explore.

First impressions of Melbourne in black & white.

After 10 years living in Australia, this is my first time in this city and somehow it doesn’t feel like Australia at all. Which is such a strange feeling.

Walking these streets I kept feeling like I had accidentally landed somewhere between London and Europe. The buildings, the laneways, the trams, the cafés… everything feels strangely familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

Sydney will probably always feel like home to me, but Melbourne truly caught me off guard. Everyone told me it was going to feel very European, but you really have to experience it to understand what that means.

It’s alive, chaotic, beautiful. Full of life, experiences and food, but also a bit intense and overwhelming.
A city that doesn’t try to hide its contrasts.

Sydney feels more polished and elegant, with its incredible nature, beaches and of course the harbour and my beloved Opera House. It’s where I’ve always felt at home and where my Australian life began. But it does lack some of the raw life and energy that Melbourne surprised me with.

Maybe Melbourne will become something more permanent for me or maybe not. But I’m really glad I gave myself the chance to get to know it, even if only for a few days, for now.

It’s been a week since I got back to Australia as a permanent resident, and I still don’t quite know how to describe how it feels. 🇦🇺🦘
Somewhere between unreal, grounding, freeing… and quietly overwhelming.

This week has mostly been admin. The kind of admin I never imagined I’d be doing: dealing with the ATO, Medicare, IDs and learning how to drive here. All the unglamorous stuff that comes with building an actual life somewhere. It’s strange how something so ordinary can feel so emotional when you know it represents independence and permanence.

This newly found freedom is definitely exciting but also scary, sometimes. It comes with responsibility, uncertainty, and the quiet pressure of “now it’s really on me.”

I’m feeling lucky, proud, disoriented, hopeful, scared, grounded, sometimes all in the same time!
Trying to let this place, these landscapes, and these moments remind me that it’s okay to move slowly into a new life. 🌿

🇮🇪 Ireland, Part 3: Farm Friends & Wild Cliffs ☘️

This chapter of my Ireland trip brought two amazing things together: adorable farm animals and some of the most dramatic landscapes I’ve ever seen. 🐄🐑🌊

From cows posing like professional models to sheep that wanted absolutely nothing to do with me, wandering through the countryside felt like stepping into a quiet, timeless world.
And then… the Cliffs of Moher appeared, a truly breathtaking sight that truly made me feel very small in comparison to it.

There’s something magical about Ireland: one minute you’re trying to befriend a sheep, the next you’re standing at the edge of the world, staring at those cliffs.

More fuzzy friends ahead — stay tuned! 😄
