Flashback // After whirlwind travels through five countries in a week, it’s a welcome moment to stow away my passport, take a deep breath, and reflect on the incredible experiences both on and off the road. The landscapes were awe-inspiring, evoking memories of Patagonia, Arizona, and Yosemite as we trekked in from the far side, creating a blend of spectacular moments. From sleeping in dusty caves, resisting the allure of cacti to being around the 750m line. Every project instant was filled with smiles, laughter, and stoke. Embracing this period and pushing my limits was an absolute joy. Sending heaps of love to the Gran Canaria community!

On a side note, I really love capturing 35mm film behind the scenes photos when I travel. It just adds a beautiful element to these amazing memories 🎞️ Especially including images like sleeping in Sheppard’s caves which are all part of shooting on these projects.

WHAT’S IN MY CAMERA BAG? 📸

This is the core gear I bring on most projects, expeditions, and shoots around the world (49 countries so far).

Every piece has earned its place, when you’re travelling light or hanging off cliffs, everything needs a purpose.

This is just the shooting kit, so things like card readers, laptops, and hard drives didn’t make the cut. Maybe that’s for the next post or reel?

This wasn’t part of the original plan.

Digging through the archives brought back this moment. I often find it hard to post photos of myself, but the project with and in Alaska stands out vividly.

A lot of our plans had to change, but adapting on the fly led us to two of the most memorable lines.

Which line is your favourite out of these two? 🙌🏽

In the face of the Storm :: As the storm rolls in on an Armenian afternoon, rigging a 300m Highline between two electrical towers.
Photographing this line provided it’s challenges, with such a large scale anchor and line, there needs to be another element to the image.
In this case a large storm rolled in whilst made his way out onto the line. Believing that this moment was something truly special. It was one of the most fun subjects to shoot đź“·

Sunrise up north.
An early-morning scramble across a chossy ledge to make the frame.

Woke up with a sore head after cowboy camping, dust still in my eyes but somehow it all fades when something stops you in your tracks like this. When the light hits just right, everything soften 🙌🏽

Sunrise by the sea.
Bittersweet.

I’ve been chasing a unicorn, a photo that’s lived in my head for years. So close it felt tangible… and somehow, it slipped through my fingers again.

This morning felt like Groundhog Day.
Another alarm. Another hike in the dark. Another “almost.”

And it’s the almost that wears you down.

The wind doesn’t cooperate.
The light fades too early.
Everything lines up except the one thing you can’t control.

I didn’t wake up inspired.
I woke up feeling defeated.
But I went anyway.

Because that’s the difference, it’s not talent or luck, it’s showing up when you don’t feel like it or not taking the easy route when it’s available.

And just like every morning, the sun rose again.
Golden light spilling over the ocean.
smiling. Coffee still warm in my hands.

Another chance.

We’ll go again.
Again and again.
For as long as it takes.

To turn a good frame into the one, the image that makes the early alarms, the missed light, the months and years worth it.

Recently I got asked why I keep showing up rain, hail or shine for 7 years to capture a dream shot?
It’s not the Failure doesn’t define you.
What defines you is the decision to come back, time after time until you make it happen.

👉🏽 For context, this series of photos is the morning after not my dream photo that I had in mind, it taught me a lot about showing up when you really don’t think you can. Thanks for reading and sharing the journey and setbacks along the way 🙏🏽

A recent shoot back home and a few takeaways I need to sharpen up on 🙌🏽

Breaking down my own work is a routine that I’ve adopted on every shoot/project no matter how good, bad, big or small it is. I’m probably too hard on myself at times especially when the elements aren’t idea or time doesn’t permit but that hunger to improve is what pushes me forward.

What are you working on improving right now? 🤝🏽🔥

Today, a dream came true 🌞
After achieving some incredible things so far, it still feels like I’m only just scratching the surface.
Being asked to become an official Nikon Creator has been a dream for a long time and it still feels surreal to say it’s finally happened.

For the past 10 years, I’ve worked as hard as I possibly could. I’ve been pushed back more times than I can count, sacrificed more than I’ll ever let on but having a brand like Nikon believe in me and back the journey means everything -
This is only the beginning 🤝🏼
