Today we have some exciting news.

It's Marie-Ann's birthday.

We hope today gives you a moment to pause, celebrate yourself, and feel how valued you are. Not just for your work, but for who you are. You are the queen hype girl and we hope you feel that today.

We wanted to share a quick update with you.
Due to ongoing restrictions here on Facebook (that have honestly been giving us a bit of grief), we’ll be spending more of our time and energy over on Instagram instead.

It just allows us to show up more freely, share more openly, and stay connected with you in the way this space was always meant to feel.

If you’d like to keep up with us, we’d really love to have you there. Follow us on Instagram.

And if you want to stay even closer, you can also head to our website and subscribe to our mailing list. That’s where we share deeper updates, stories, and first access to what’s coming next.

Thank you for being here with us, always.

Your images deserve a place beyond a phone screen.

At Maru Collective, many women choose to have their photographs placed into a private album designed to hold their experience in a tangible way. These albums are intimate, personal, and created to be kept somewhere safe where you can return to them whenever you need a reminder of your strength.

An album allows your session to live beyond the day it was taken. It becomes something you can hold, revisit, and keep for yourself without the noise of social media or the distraction of a screen.

For many women, it becomes a quiet reminder of the moment they chose themselves.

Many women return to Maru Collective more than once.

Not because they need more photos, but because something shifts after the first experience. When a woman sees herself with honesty and respect, self trust begins to grow.

Confidence is not built in a single moment. It grows each time a woman chooses herself, steps outside her comfort zone, and realises she is capable of more than she thought.

That is why so many women come back. Each session becomes another step in strengthening that relationship with themselves, supported by the Maru girl gang every time they walk through the door.

What should you wear to a bo***ir session?

The simple answer is whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident.

There are no wardrobe rules at Maru Collective. Some women choose a sheer two piece set, others feel more comfortable in a covered one piece, a lace gown, or something soft and flowing. The goal is never to fit a specific look, it is to wear something that feels like you.

The same goes for what you arrive in. Whether that is leisure wear, comfy clothes, or something relaxed that helps you feel settled when you walk through the door.

Every session is guided by your comfort, your boundaries, and your personal style. The Maru girl gang is here to support you exactly as you are.

Choosing yourself does not require explanation.

Women are often taught to prioritise everyone else first. Partners, children, family, work, expectations. Over time it becomes easy to forget that your needs, your growth, and your confidence deserve the same attention.

Choosing yourself is not selfish. It is an act of self respect.

At Maru Collective, many women arrive because they are ready to place themselves back on their own priority list. Not for validation, not for approval, but because they deserve to feel strong, seen, and confident in their own skin.

You are allowed to choose yourself. No permission required.

VISIONS FOR MARU COLLECTIVE

Maru Collective will always be more than a place to take photos.

The vision is to continue building a space where women feel safe to show up fully, speak openly, and be supported without judgement. A space where women choose themselves and stand beside each other while they do it.

I want Maru to grow into a collective that women feel proud to belong to. Not because of what it looks like from the outside, but because of how it makes them feel when they are inside it.

This will always be a space built for women, led by women, and protected for women

Privacy is a non negotiable value at Maru Collective.

Choosing to step into a bo***ir session requires trust. Women share vulnerable moments, personal stories, and parts of themselves that deserve to be treated with care and respect.

At Maru, your images belong to you. They are never shared, posted, or used without your clear consent. Your experience also remains private, because what happens in this space is yours to hold.

Creating a women only environment means protecting that trust at every stage. Privacy is not a feature here. It is a foundation.

This industry has taught me that women do not need fixing, they need safe spaces.

I have seen what happens when women are met with pressure, comparison, and expectation, and I have also seen what happens when those things are removed. The difference is everything.

It has taught me that confidence is not created through posing or lighting, it is created through trust. When a woman feels safe, respected, and in control, she shows up differently.

It has also shown me that not every space in this industry is built with women in mind. That is exactly why Maru exists.
