A couple of images of the wonderful “Blood Moon” which occurred here in Brisbane Australia on the 3rd March 26.

The clouds had their fun but managed to get a few minutes in of shooting and really happy with how they came out. Really love managing to catch some stars too.

LNER Peppercorn Class A1 No. 60163 Tornado arriving into East Grinstead, UK last night for the bluebell_railway giants of steam this weekend.

Tornado is a 4-6-2 "Pacific" steam locomotive completed in 2008, to original drawings.

Today saw a first for Brisbane Airport with arrival of Qantas brand new Airbus A321XLR, VH-OGA "Great Ocean Road".

The aircraft arrived into Sydney yesterday (2nd July), finishing its delivery flight from Hamburg. This the first A321XLR of 28 airframes ordered by Qantas with a further 12 for Jetstar.

With a range of 4700nm and a 30% reduction in fuel burn (compared to a previous generation aircraft) this will be a fantastic aircraft for Qantas.

Today, 6th June 2025, marks the 81st Anniversary of D-Day – the Allied invasion of the Normandy beaches during the Second World War.

I haven’t shared much of my background on here, but I’ve been fortunate to work as an aircraft engineer on the Douglas C-47 since I was 17, starting out in the UK.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of meeting and speaking with several veterans who either flew or jumped from the incredible C-47 Dakota. These conversations have stayed with me and shaped my appreciation for both the aircraft and the people who served with it.

Eleven years ago, I travelled to Normandy for the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. It was an unforgettable trip. I was lucky enough to reconnect with some friends I hadn’t seen in many years and speak to a few veterans while there. A particularly special moment was being invited to fly in a C-47 I used to work on – a genuine D-Day veteran. Flying low over the Normandy countryside in that aircraft, still wearing its D-Day stripes, on the same date it had dropped paratroopers 70 years before… it’s something that can’t really be captured in words or photos.

Its not often I get the opportunity to photograph significant events for friends and family, however on Thursday 15th May 25 I managed to for my wife.

Since completing her last flight in the B717 late last year she has been training on Qantas / QantasLink's latest aircraft the A220.

Seen departing Brisbane Airport A220 VH-X4A "Minyma Kutjara Tjukurpa", with my wife at controls she started her first Check to Line on type.

Congratulations on passing your check, I am extremely proud of you and I know how much work you have put into this.
