I left home at 4.20pm.

Looked up. Saw high cloud. Panicked.

Where has the biggest sky in the Scenic Rim if I only have 40 minutes?

Floored it. Made it with 5 minutes to spare.

This old hay shed + that sky = worth every red light. (No I didn't run them lol)

Red, orange, yellow — no filter needed when Queensland puts on a show like this.

Worth it for this shot.

Late post because I’m still buzzing from this…

Caught a rare fog bow in the Scenic Rim this morning 🌫️🌈

Same as a rainbow but made of fog, not rain. No colors — just this ghost-white arc hanging over the paddocks south of Brisbane. Had to pull over. This is my second fog bow in two months. The first was in Tassie! Just outside Boonah at Coulson.

Was anyone else in the Scenic Rim around sunrise this morning? Would love to know if others spotted it. I know one person who captured it who has posted on my page!

Found another piece of Tasmania’s forgotten history on my recent trip.

I guess there’s no secret on the location — I think the mountain gives it away, yes?

This old ruin has plenty of character and things to look at even in the state it’s in. The chimney is still standing strong, but the other parts of the farmhouse are definitely a bit on the saggy side.

Storms, time, and Mount Roland watching over it all. Still holding stories, even as it sags.

6:31am at Wyaralong Dam in the Scenic Rim.

Fog was present from Brisbane all the way down when I started my drive before 5am. Honestly, I was second-guessing the early wake-up as I crawled through that thick blanket on the highway.

But I was hopeful I’d get a nice surreal shot with the dead trees in the water — it’s something I’ve been visualizing for months. When I got to the dam and saw the mist hanging dead still over the glassy water, I knew the 4:30am alarm was worth it.

Stood there in the cold for 20 minutes just watching the light shift through the fog. No wind, no sound, just those skeletal trees and their perfect reflections. I think it worked out really good. You can almost feel that warmth on the right with the glow of sunrise trying to push through.

Sometimes the best shots come from the mornings you almost sleep through.

Ferry back from Maria Island to Triabunna.

No swell. No wind. Just wispy clouds catching fire over Mercury Passage.

You get one of these after a full day of wombats, cliffs, and painted rocks and you just… stop talking.
