Path of a Full Moon🌕

A long exposure reveals the apparent motion of the Moon across Earth's sky, showing how much our natural satellite appears to track across the heavens over a short period of time.

The photograph combines the stillness of an old dead tree with the relentless motion of the Moon, creating a visual contrast between what appears permanent and what is constantly changing.

The glowing streak is the result of a single 15-minute exposure, allowing the Moon to naturally trail across the frame as the Earth rotated.

The exposure was carefully timed so that the Moon remained visible at the beginning of its path while recording its luminous motion through the twilight sky without over-exposing.

The silhouetted tree serves as a strong foreground anchor, with the Moon appearing to pass behind it, adding depth and a sense of scale.

🌕✨ **Look closely... that's not a rainbow—it's an Ice Halo.**

Captured tonight around the Moon, this stunning lunar halo formed as moonlight passed through millions of hexagonal ice crystals suspended high in the atmosphere. The crystals act like tiny prisms, bending the light into a perfect glowing ring.

These halos are more common during cold, high-altitude cirrus clouds, but seeing one this clear is always a treat.

The Moon didn’t move in a straight line that night… it painted the sky. 🌕
What you’re seeing here is 4 hours of time in a single frame.
From the bright full Moon… to the deep red glow of totality… and back again.
I stood beside this quiet road for hours watching Earth’s shadow slowly swallow the Moon. Every phase you see here was captured individually — each one an HDR blend of 5 images to preserve the incredible detail of the lunar surface.
When you compress hours of the universe into one moment, you start to realise something…
The sky is never still.
It’s always moving, always changing, always telling a story.
And sometimes all you have to do is stand there long enough to watch it unfold. ✨
