The Eta Carina Nebula. This project took 22 hours of 120s and 10s sub-exposures to produce this image. Seen in the Southern hemisphere only, this nebula can been observed with an unaided eye under a dark sky.

Rig: Askar FRA500 telescope; ZWO ASI533MC camera; ZWO AM5 mount; L-Extreme filter; 392 x 10s and 635 x 120s exposures.

Happy Sunday. Three sunspot regions (AR3140, AR3141, AR3145) appear on the West side of the Sun. Did you know the East and West directions are flipped on maps of the Sun? This is simply a convention astronomers used in "old times". In 1961, the other celestial bodies such as the Moon were aligned to the West - East cardinal points like Earth but the Sun's remained.
