Family photos, but make them feel like actual family.

A relaxed Brisbane family session with a couple of grumbles, a bit of chaos, some bribery, dad on a tire swing, and a few in-between moments that make the best photos.

This is the kind of family photography I look for in every session; real, playful, a little unhinged, and definitely not overly posed.

Loved this session.

A huge Saturday afternoon for the .panthers.opens as they ran out winners over the 34-16 on home soil. A few of my favourites from a fantastic afternoon of footy.

Caught somewhere between a portrait session and surreal fever dream.

No further questions, please - we're running on vibes here.

I was so privileged to be part of Lucy & Tom's wedding at the gorgeous (my first time there, and what a beautiful venue!).

Weddings are such funny occasions. There's always a lot going on; there are smiles, laughs, shouts, claps, and cheers - and then there are moments where despite being surrounded by family and friends, you feel like you're the only two people in the room.

It was a big day, but they still found the quiet moments.

The setup rarely looks like the result.
And that's exactly the point.

I've noticed a lot of new faces around here lately, and it's been a while since I've offered a proper introduction.

So, hi! I'm Louis - the face behind Shuttercraft.

I've spent a lot of my career in marketing and advertising, but working in photography and videography has always been a constant passion. What originally began as a creative outlet has become a lot more intentional over time.

My favourite way of working is spending time finding moments that I'm drawn to, and letting the people in front of the camera experience those moments naturally. Unless I absolutely have to, I generally avoid telling anyone to pose.

Most of my time is now spent documenting weddings, families, portraits, and projects that tickle my creative senses. I'm less about perfect poses, and more about natural expression. Those moments make the best photos, anyway.

A big turning point for me was a trip to Tasmania with my wife a couple of years ago. There was no client work involved, but boy did it remind me why I picked up a camera in the first place all those years ago. (Also, Tasmania is absurdly good for photography.)

When I'm not holding a camera, you'll find me either:
• planning my next snowboarding trip to Japan
• watching something horror-related (and often regretting it later), or
• overthinking a coffee order

If you've been here a while, I really appreciate you sticking around, and would love to know what you think of my work.

And, if you're new here, say hello! I'd love to know how you found me.

Catch you around ✌
