It takes a lot out of anyone to plan a wedding, let alone trying to do so amongst COVID restrictions, sliding nuptial dates and interstate loved ones held apart beyond our control. But you wouldn't have known that watching Brigette + Tom on these sandy rocks just a few weeks ago. It turns out a winter beach sunset Engagement Session was just what all three of us needed.

Amy + Mitch, officially putting 2020 back together again 👌🏻. These two Rockstars took to their wedding last weekend with a calmness and class that was the breath of fresh air we all needed. They beamed under rose petal confetti, slow danced on Beerwah dirt roads, and “dropped it” like Cardi B at sundown. And just like that, the world felt normal again.

Happy Father’s Day to all the doting dads, loving dads, fun dads and inspiring dads. You do wonderful things for the future of our world, and it all starts in the hearts of our children. I’m incredibly lucky to be invited into some powerful moments with dads and their families. And it doesn’t seem to matter whether that’s in the stillness of the nursery or the fun of the backyard - There’s magic that is found there. Not just your garden variety magic of stardust and dazzle either. It’s far deeper magic than that. It’s a magic that is both softness and strength. Hilarity and calm. Wandering and direction. So keep doing your magic dads. We see you, we hear you, we feel you. You do good. You do all manner of good.

PRO TIP: Rub-A-Dub-Dub, plenty of sledging in the tub!

When you strip it all back, our role as Wedding Photographers is to be your storyteller. To tell all the parts of your wedding day story that is important to you, as well as documenting those smaller parts that make up the connection of you and your tribe. Sure, this one day is the culmination of hundreds of decisions over bridal gowns, flowers, menus and music playlists, but I can assure you without a shadow of doubt - it’s these small moments that exist outside of the “must haves” that will fill your heart with reminiscence and bring that nostalgic smile.

So I beg you, if you’re in the throws of planning your wedding right now, make certain you allow space in your day for these moments to happen. Embrace the freedom to peel back some of that rushed timeline. Give your day, and yourself, permission and time to breath. And talk to your photographer about this early in your planning, if they’re a genuine storyteller it will be music to their ears. They’ll also help you to make it happen. They will be as excited as you are, I promise.

In a time that seems all too distant from the current state of this world, Jaimie-Lee and Jordan reached out to me with an extraordinary idea. They were planning their dream island wedding in Koh Samui, and in what has now been realised as a masterful stroke, they would be taking 60 of their closest tribe along with them. Planning such a feat for a wedding, along with dodging both severe tropical storms and an impending worldwide pandemic, they pulled it off seamlessly in the most Boss-like manner that I’ve ever seen. Yet as I’ve come to know, that’s fairly typical of these two. They have a way of dreaming big, rolling with the punches, and doing things their way. The only thing more beautiful than the most stunning of locations, is the love that they have for their tribe and the love that their tribe has for them. I’m blessed to have witnessed it.

Jaimie-Lee + Jordan have a love story birthed in their youth, yet the love they have for each other and for those within their circle is deep and true as the oldest love you know. They had dreamt of this moment for years, and just last week, along with 58 of their most love filled tribe, they stood on a Koh Samui mountaintop and let more love in. And it was more glorious than you would have ever had thought.
