These images represent the coming together of three of my passions: landscape photography, the weather and the area in which I live. I’ve loved taking photos since I was a kid, and my enjoyment of photography has only grown over the years. In recent times, I have focussed my efforts on the field of photography that inspires me the most – landscapes. An important aspect of landscape photography is
weather, and the way it plays out on the landscape. From the calm serenity of a perfectly still sea at sunset, to the wild drama of an imminent storm, weather is one of the main characters in any landscape image. It just so happens weather, particularly miserable weather, is something else I am passionate about. It’s hard for me to describe in words the feeling I get when I am standing in the elements, when the atmosphere is turning it on, but one phrase always comes to mind: It makes me feel alive! Lastly, my photography is inspired by my passion for the places I shoot. In particular, I love photographing the area I live in: Brisbane’s bayside. I grew up here in Wynnum-Manly on the shores of Moreton Bay. Living by the sea is something I never take for granted, hence why I spend a lot of time along the foreshore with my camera. I hope to capture many more images of the bay and the many other beautiful places in South-East Queensland. Thanks for your support.
