Our Xplorer Adventures

Our Xplorer Adventures This page is intended to document our travels in our Hardkorr Xplorer camper trailer.

John & Sue purchased this in early 2023 & this site will be a location to share some of our photographs from our adventures as we tour this great country.

We haven’t been able to get away much in the past year due to other commitments, but hopefully this will be able to change a little later in the year. However for now we have been able to find a few days where we can fit in a short break on North Stradbroke Island. Just staying in the Amity Point campground this time. I worked out that we were last here in 2018 so it’s great to be back.

We had a good run over on the SeaLink barge and it was not too crowded. We took advantage of the current 50% fares for vehicles towing a van

However we have arrived to a very wet day so it it’s the first time in a while that we have given the fibreglass gutter a workout. 😃 It’s working a treat and carrying water that would otherwise be a problem away from the camper.

Always a bit of a challenge to set up camp in the rain but we managed OK. As we are here for almost a week we have also set up the awning walls so we have a good dry area for sitting in. Hopefully today is the wettest day of our trip.

It’s been quite some time since we have been able to get away in the Xplorer due to other commitments. But we decided to spend a few days in Lamington National Park at the O’Reilly’s campground. We have been here a few times over the years but this is the first time not being in the hostel. A beautiful location though it does seem to be a bit of a wind tunnel where we are situated.
Lots of bird life everywhere & plenty of rainforest walks
