Over the last week I've shared photos of the tyres, the fridge, the tracks and the Hilux itself.
But looking back through them all, I realised something.
This vehicle has been a huge part of my life over the last 18 months.
Not because it's the best build.
Not because of the modifications.
Not because of the photos.
Because of where it's taken me.
It's been there for work.
It's been there for adventures.
It's been there for weekends away, long drives and plenty of memories with family and mates.
When I bought this Hilux, I never imagined just how much of my life would happen around it.
Funny how a vehicle can become so much more than just a vehicle.
And looking back, I think that's my favourite part.

One thing I've learnt over the years is that the right wheel and tyre package can completely change how a vehicle feels.
Not because it looks better.
Because you're more confident taking the road less travelled.
This setup has handled daily driving, touring, muddy tracks and everything in between without missing a beat.
And honestly, that's exactly what I want from a 4WD.
Built to be used.
Not built to sit in a shed.

I've always found the best gear is the stuff you stop thinking about.
The equipment that just works.
No troubleshooting.
No frustration.
No wondering if it'll make it through the trip.
This Evakool has been bouncing around in the back of the Hilux for years now.
Weekend trips.
Work days.
Camping runs.
Road trips.
Loaded, unloaded, covered in dust and dragged across more tracks than I can remember.
Sometimes the best review isn't what someone says about a product.
It's how long they keep using it.

The older I get, the less I care about having the biggest build.
What matters more is having a vehicle that gets used.
Covered in mud.
Loaded up for a trip.
Parked somewhere you've never been before.
Because a 4WD sitting in the shed might look perfect.
But the best memories usually come from the ones that don't.

Nobody remembers the drive to work.
But you remember the road that disappeared into the trees.
You remember the rain.
The mud.
The breakdowns.
The wins.
The places you found when you weren't looking for anything.
Maybe that's why we keep building them.
Not because we need another modification.
Because we're all chasing another story.
