More studio play today, this time starting with a light box and flat lay, and playing with negative space.

At times my photography is informed by what is happening in my life at the time. In fact I had a teacher while I was studying at TAFE who said he could tell where my head was by my images.

I took this image as I awaited the birth of my twin granddaughters a week ago.

The roses are to represent their English heritage. The eucalyptus leaves, their Australian side. The two pink roses of course are the girls, and the white rose is for family members no longer with us who are watching over them. The agave leaf, a slow growing, strong, resilient plant is a reminder to take time to enjoy every moment, and take life one step at a time.

It’s been a little wet around here lately so as the roses have started opening I had a play with the spray bottle.

Seemed appropriate..
