Windswept.
Let me tell you why this is one of my favourite photos of taken to date. A howling, cold, near 30 knot gale, strong enough to make you question every life choice that led you outside. This incredible animal was completely unfazed, and in the zone looking for his next meal. Not only an excellent hunter, but a top shelf scavenger and opportunist. I think being out in the elements capturing photos of wildlife in their homes really makes you appreciate how incredible each one is. I was out there for 30min and the conditions were what you’d describe as relentless. I’m still finding Fraser Island (K’gari) sand in my camera gear a whole month later. And yet these guys live in it. It’s their home. Talk about being built different. Or maybe they’ve adapted over time. What do you think? kgari

A dingo’s body is streamlined and agile – they’re tailor-made to move efficiently across different terrain and landscapes. Dingoes on Fraser Island (K’gari) usually stand at about 50cm tall at the shoulder, with a body length of around 100–122cm from nose to tail. When considering the whole dingo population (including mainland dingoes), their fur comes in three colour morphs – white, a tan and ginger combination, or black and tan. On K’gari, the dingoes’ tan and ginger colouring helps them blend into the sandy landscape. 🐕🏜️

*photo taken on a large telephoto lens. Do not approach dingos - they are wild animals and need space and respect.

Go somewhere you feel small. 🏔️

Why “Feeling Small” is Beneficial:

Awe and Perspective: Standing beside a towering mountain or a vast ocean highlights our smallness in the grand scheme of things, bringing perspective to daily worries.

Reduced Stress: It allows you to step out of your head, reducing feelings of powerlessness and overthinking.

Inspiration and Calm: The experience is often described as liberating, comforting, and a way to experience wonder, rather than fear.

Take a moment to pause from your busy schedule and discover an intriguing aspect of Mother Nature with me. In my latest blog post, I will delve into the fascinating world of Elk Antlers, exploring their growth, purpose, and the captivating cycle of nature. Additionally, I will share photographs I captured in the Canadian Rockies. 🇨🇦

Few features in the animal kingdom capture attention quite like the antlers of a bull Elk. Towering above the animal’s head like a natural crown, elk antlers symbolize strength, maturity, and the raw power of the wild. For wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, and conservationists, understanding el...

Ravens are mainly scavengers and traditionally inhabited mountainous and wild hill country and seacoasts in both forested and unforested regions, although they have expanded into many human-made environments in recent decades. The common raven (C. corax), a fierce and crafty bird, is found in both the Old and New Worlds. It is the only raven native to Canada and is widely distributed, breeding from the high arctic islands (Prince Patrick Island, southern Ellesmere Island) across to Newfoundland. It now occurs in much of central Alberta, southwestern Manitoba, and central and southern Saskatchewan, where it used to be absent. 🐦‍⬛🇨🇦canada

Meet my four legged friend Archie! Archie is a Highland Cow that lives in Darling Downs with the Mostyn Highland Fold. He’s currently working on his winter coat, enjoys chin scratches and his fringe brushed. Maddy and I also met Archie’s friends and his owner this afternoon, and had one of my favourite afternoons in my life so far!

You can also meet Archie and his friends in the Mostyn Highland Fold (), make sure you check out their website and book a private session! 😊
