How special is this! I couldn’t wait to share these. This was a highlight from yesterday for me. We were driving along a dirt road when hubby stopped the car - at a close by Emu and 6 chicks! Better still, they were in the pretty wildflowers! And even better they did not run away like usual and posed for quite a few photos! Photography heaven! Hint - if ever you are in a similar situation and it is safe to do so - do NOT turn the car engine off (they run away). Keeping the car going seems to confuse them and then you can hopefully get photos. Photos taken in Menindee.

Peaceful at Kinchega National Park near Menindee. Listen to those bird sounds! We very much enjoyed a bbq lunch here.

Goodnight from Lake Pamamaroo in Menindee. Tea was late but who cares when you get to see these views lol.

What a difference a day makes! After the heavy rain and wild winds of the weekend yesterday’s calm/little winds was doubly appreciated. We had beautiful reflections at the Murray River near Wentworth. On the way to Menindee we were rapt to see wildflowers everywhere- even paddocks full of them. Unlike last year - every where was green, this area obviously has had a lot of rain. I even let hubby take a photo of me in the wildflowers (I am much more comfortable behind the camera lol). As we will be in and out of service please forgive me if I am tardy in responding. Thought I would put this post on while I could lol. Have a great day.

Woohoo!! What an amazing sunset it was near Mildura on the Murray river tonight! Absolutely beautiful colour, and reflected in the water too. Blowing an absolute gale though so I didn’t even attempt slow exposure photos as the trees would’ve been blurry. We arrived yesterday to heaps of rain, today winds up to 110 kmh so it was very nice to see this beautiful sunset.

Wishing you a happy Friday! I love the New Holland Honeyeaters - they are such beautiful birds with big personalities. In the last two photos notice the leg keeping one bird at a safe distance lol. This big bush is actually a Fuschia of some sort with small grape like bunches on it - the birds love it. Photos taken on our farm in Byaduk.

How Australian is this photo? I have dreamed about getting this photo for awhile now - and yesterday the stars aligned lol. I was in Hamilton and a passerby asked me what I was taking photos of. I showed her the back of the camera and she said ‘you can’t get any more Australian than that’ which I thought was very apt. Koala was very sleepy and had a lot of trouble opening his eyes lol.

Cheery Canola theme continued… this morning I had the absolute delight of travelling down ‘Canola alley’ in Glenthompson. Wow wow and wow. Miles of canola and miles of mountains (the Grampians). Photography heaven. It was wonderful to have full sun for most of this- while the clouds were above some mountains they weren’t blocking the sun. Until later when it pretty much completely clouded over - but not before a flash of intense sun on the canola and stormy skies. The last hurrah lol. Good fun. What these photos don’t show you however is how windy it was - nearly got blown off my side step I use to get a bit higher in photos lol.
