The Mayor, soon-to-be ex-Mayor of Meander Valley, congratulates the contractors who mocked legitimate environmental concerns about the destruction of platypus burrows in Deloraine, Tasmania. I'm confident this elected official has breached the Code of Conduct regulations. With MVC refusing to answer simple questions about this issue, I have had no choice but to report them to the Ombudsman Tasmania for a lack of transparency and honesty regarding this ongoing matter. Why can't governments be honest and accountable to the very people who pay their wages?

The Living Relics
Pencil Pines are endemic to Tasmania and thrive in the upper reaches of the alpine regions of our Wild Island State.
I find textures in their bark and the lichens that adorn it, creating symbiotic storytelling through my in-camera multiple-exposure photography. I'm really enjoying this creative journey.

Watching the Awards Results at 6pm in Adelaide with Our Impact Winner Dave Sanderson (such a legend!) and Maya Hughes (a gorgeous young talent)Junior Category finalist for Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year 2026.
Surprise for me was Runner Up in the Threathened Species Category and a Finalist in the Monochrome category.
Big Shout out to Benjamin Alldridge for winning the Botanical Category!! GO BENNY and Paul Hoelen for Runner Up in Our Impact. Awards night tomorrow!! So exciting. Thank you to the South Australian Museum Australian Geographic, the wonderful judges and all the contestants!

Our beautiful Tasmanian Cider Gum was announced as Runner-Up in the Threatened Species Category tonight.
Go Tassie! What a wonderful platform for conservation advocacy. Awards and exhibition tomorrow night in Adelaide. Thank you to the incredible work of the South Australian Museum and to all the judges and contestants. Nature Thanks You!!
