Good Evening All!!

13 down 2 to go.
Yes only 2 rounds to go for Season 2026. Its always around this time that I feel the Season has just flown by. And by knowing only 2 rounds to go, it certainly has.

Great weather was the order of the day. With great weather comes dry fields. With dry fields comes open footy. I could only attend 2 matches today and the U17 Girls game I shot had plenty of open footy.

This was always going to be a classic game in our U17 Girls grade.
1st place v 2nd place.
The best defence in the comp v the best attack in the comp.
Last Seasons Premiers v Last Seasons Runners Up.

The Raiders have been a juggernaut the last couple of Seasons. Going unbeaten in 2025 in the U16 Girls Comp and still remain unbeaten this Season. The Jets have only lost to 1 team this Season and that was to the Raiders in Round 6. The Raiders have always had strong, structured defence where accountability is the priority. The Jets can pop an offload at the right time to unsettle any defence and thrive on 2nd phase play.

Todays game was a cracker and had all that I have just mentioned with L.C.C taking a 22-6 lead into halftime then going on to win 40-24.
The 2nd half score was 18-18 which I am sure the the Raiders Coaching staff will address this week at training while the Jets will take plenty of confidence out of that knowing they can not only match but go set for set and score some good tries in a half of footy with the defending Premiers.

I am not to sure of the standard of the Balmain Districts U17 Girls Comp. But what I do know is that a lot of these Girls that played in this game, along with the Girls from the Cobras, Rams, Tigers, Eagles and Collies will not let the Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale Jersey down when their Summer squads are named in a couple on Months!!!!!

So for todays final Gameday photo, its a few from todays top of the table clash in our U17 Girls Comp between the L.C.C Raiders and the Narellan Jets!!

These 2 teams met in the 2024 U14 Girls GF and in the 2025 U16 Girls GF. Something tells me that they might meet again for 1 last game before the end of the Season 😎

Good Evening All!!

What a round, what a day!!!

Our District just keeps on creating the positive energy and vibes!! Today it was Minto Cobras Junior Rugby League turn to host a round. So for Round 12 they hosted their First Nations Round!!
A chance to celebrate our First Nations People as well as all Cultures that make up all their Junior Footy Club.

The food stalls were awesum and catered for all Cultures. The DJ played non stop (any links for a sneaky download 😎) and I found myself singing along all day while I was capturing the games but best highlight was Cultural performances put on before the afternoon games. Its almost like the footy was not the main feature of the day. It was also awesum seeing the opposition Clubs visiting for the day embracing the Round by bringing their own Cultural flags and wearing them proudly around the grounds!! Once again our District came together.

A special thank you as always to Mike, Kenneth, Christie, Darlene and the rest of the Cobras Crew who always go out of their way for myself when I pop down, weather it being offered a water, a seat or getting some players to jump in for a photo I am after, you guys always go that extra mile for me. These little things will NEVER be forgotten. Always Aroha to you all ❤️🖤

Today marks a new chapter in Cobras history with the first time hosting at their new Home Ground Kayess Park. Whilst Im sure it was hard to leave Benham behind and all the highlights that happened there, so lets start making some new ones. Lets create some new memories. Lets celebrate new milestones. Lets create new moments and lets mark this new chapter in Cobras history with it being the best First Nations Round Ever!!
