Good Evening All!!
Round 6 is in the books.
With preparations interrupted for most Clubs during the week due to ground closures, all teams were excited to wake up this morning and see some blue sky for Gameday. But the rain was back for late afternoon games which made for tough footy conditions and a few injuries crept in.
I visited 4 grounds today. 1 of them was Bradbury Oval as Collies were hosts for Round 6 which they renamed "Jojis Round" for BRAIN CANCER AWARENESS!!.
This round hits hard for everyone involved at Campbelltown Collegians Rugby League Football Club. Joji Turaganivolo was a massive long time supporter of Collies and was always so vocal at their games, either from the sideline or on the field. Joji is deeply missed on Gamedays and Collies are getting right behind the theme of "Wear Grey In May" which is all about raising funds and awareness for Brain Cancer research and support. Joji was diagnosed in July 2020 and unfortunately passed away coming up to 2 years ago.
Today consisted of wearing Grey. There was face paint, food, and plenty of items for sale like ribbons and pins to raise money for a great cause with proceeds going directly to the NeuroSurgical Research Foundation.
Todays final Gameday photos come from "Wear Grey In May" down at Bradbury Oval where Collies always put on a great day and Joji will forever be remembered!!!
