On a recent camping trip with Alan Broomby Photography, I thought I would throw my drone in the air to capture the beauty of these amazing animals!

I think I need some more flight time, seriously underestimated the challange of filming these beautiful creatures.

For the clips I did manage, please enjoy.

Just… wow

Caught this aurora putting on an unreal show over the snowy Monaro region in southern NSW March 27th between 12 and 1am. I thought I would Throw together a quick timelapse so you can see how wild it really was. Watching the colors dancing, sky pulsing like something out of a dream. Never gets old seeing this kind of magic overhead.

Crank up the volume and watch in full screen if you can!

Okay, but how unreal is this?! The southern lights showing off with those fiery reds and golds, while the stars just casually sparkle above. The whole scene feels like something out of a dream. This is actually the second time I’ve witnessed the aurora with this strength, beams visible to the naked eye, and it’s just as breathtaking as the first. If this isn’t a reminder to slow down and appreciate the magic around us, I don’t know what is. Nature really knows how to put on a show! Just a quick rough edit as I couldn't contain my excitement to share what a vivid lightshow it turned out to be.

ATLAS, a Fire Tower, and a Stunning Night at Mount Coree

Got lucky enough to capture this comet for the second time. This time with the fire tower at Mount Coree in the frame! There’s something special about seeing a moment like this in such a beautiful spot. The fading sunset, the endless stars, and that glowing comet tail made for an unforgettable sight.

Standing by the fire tower, looking up at the vast sky, it really hit me how small we are in the grand scheme of things. But also, how amazing it is to witness these rare moments.

Anyone else ever spotted a comet or been up to Mount Coree? Would love to hear your stories!

There's something truly magical about capturing the night sky. This shot on blue hour features the stunning comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan ATLAS blazing across the heavens, with the vast expanse of stars twinkling around it. It's moments like these that remind us just how small we are in the grand scheme of the universe.

For this shot, I wanted to balance the comet’s brilliant tail with the surrounding stars and fading twilight on the horizon. Venus twinkling nicely just on the edge of the frame with all her glory. The contrast between the warm hues of the sunset and the deep blues of the night made for the perfect backdrop.

Still up on that mountain. As I eagerly setup my camera for a time-lapse, I stood back and looked high into the heavens. My excitement grew wilder as I could see beams high into the sky!! And colour, my god the colour. It has been a life long dream to witness these rare lights, has it changed me as a person? Well hard for it not to have.

For those who missed the show, this one is for you!

Nature's light show in full effect! Captured this stunning display of the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) with vivid hues of purple and green dancing across the night sky. Moments like these remind me of the magic that surrounds us. To me this image evokes a sense of wonder and awe. The vibrant purples and greens of the aurora against the vast, starry sky creating a feeling of tranquility and connection to the natural world. It feels almost otherworldly, as if witnessing something rare and magical, reminding me of the beauty and mystery in the universe. There's a sense of calm but also excitement, standing beneath the night sky, witnessing the earth's natural light show.

To say that I was amazed last night would be an incredible understatement! Joining Nick and Alan Broomby Photography, we arrived at the top of Mount Coree with much anticipation. Jumping out of the ute, to my amazement, I instantly saw beams, and my heart raced. Were my eyes playing some cruel trick on me? No, I whipped out my phone and BOOM! It was happening! I screamed with joy and scrambled to grab my camera bag. Setting up, we realized we were in for a very rare event. Sharing this moment among close friends really topped it off. This moment will stay with me and in my heart for my lifetime. Thank you universe, you're amazing!

Had an amazing time last Thursday night shooting with 50 Eight Photography and Alan Broomby Photography. After capturing what felt like a thousand shots of one of my favorite subjects, I decided to give a setting Milky Way time-lapse a try. My first ever and here’s the result! Super happy with how it turned out, and I can't wait to create more stunning time-lapses in the future!

Well that was epic! Alan Broomby and I braved the cold for over four hours in Williamsdale, hoping to capture the Aurora. We were cursing the clouds at first, but patience paid off when they started to look like they were clearing up, revealing the stunning light show. Once the moon dipped behind the clouds, the Aurora had exploded across the sky. Snapping my first Aurora pic was unreal—I'm still buzzing! Love the golden carpet, and splash of colour from the light show up in the sky. Huge shoutout to Alan for showing me the ropes. What a night to remember! Something I will never ever forget!!
