🏉 THAT’S A WRAP — GRAND FINAL DAY 2026 📸
With 16 teams and approximately 320 players taking the field across the day, naturally coverage varied between players and teams.
Coverage depended on where the action was happening at the time, with DSP constantly moving between fields, match action and presentations. Presentation times could also be unpredictable, meaning quickly switching from one field to another while trying to capture as much as possible. With around 320 players involved, it simply wasn’t possible to guarantee the exact same number of images for every player or team.

Those approximately 7,500 images all had to be worked through individually — sorting, checking, culling, editing and preparing the final galleries for delivery across Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
There were no real breaks throughout the day, apart from quickly stopping for some much-needed water, while trying to capture as much of Grand Final Day as physically possible.
A massive congratulations to every player, coach, official, volunteer, parent and supporter involved.
A big thank you to Hunter Junior Rugby League for allowing DSP to be there to capture such an important day of junior rugby league for the region, and for trusting DSP with the task of documenting the action, presentations and special moments throughout the day. It was a privilege to be part of it.
A special thank you also to Central Charlestown Junior Rugby League for hosting the Grand Finals at St John’s Oval and for their support throughout the day. From getting me some desperately needed water late in the day when I was running on empty(about to collapse), to all the extra work their volunteers put into setting up, running the day and packing everything away — it was greatly appreciated.
