King of the goldfields 👑 Sneak Peeks

These are the first photos I wanted to share from the King of the Goldfields
Not the races
Not the presentations
Because before a single race starts and long after the last trophy is handed out, there’s this army of volunteers, committee members, sponsors, families, kids, all giving up their time so everyone else can enjoy theirs
As a mum, I noticed parents trying to be in ten places at once
And As a business owner, honestly, I saw people who care deeply about what they do.

I know the hours no one sees…
The stress, the sacrifices, the quiet work before and after!
Those bits usually go unnoticed

Growing up, I’d heard of this weekend, but this was the first time I experienced it from the inside
What I walked away with wasn’t just Content, Film & Photos!
It was respect for the people who make this community what it is!
Hard work, family, friendship, turning up without asking for applause.

Thank you for trusting me to capture your weekend 🎬

Four years of K80 VP and I’ve finally found someone who could get the work jacket right. 😂

I’ve attempted work shirts a few times over the years and they’ve never quite turned out how I pictured them — but Worklocker Charters Towers absolutely nailed this one.

They were helpful from start to finish, worked with what I wanted and somehow got it sorted in a ridiculously short timeframe.

So naturally, I filmed the whole process — from ordering it to opening it for the first time right before heading to work. 🎥

And yeah… I’ve already been back. 😂 More work shirts, jumpers and trackies are on the way, so stay tuned for those.

And Work Locker don’t know it yet… but I’ll be back AGAIN to sort the Goldfield Ashes work shirts. 👀🏏

Safe to say, they’re stuck with me now. 🖤

MAD MONDAY — and a little behind the scenes from K80 VP.

There’s plenty happening behind the screen at the moment. Films being edited, photos being sorted, weddings being prepared for, content being created and a few exciting things happening that we can’t quite share yet.

One thing we probably don’t say enough is thank you for your patience.

K80 VP is still a very small, self-taught business built from the ground up
Behind the cameras, Katie is still learning, creating and doing her best to make every gallery and film something worth waiting for
A single job can mean hours of footage and hundreds of photos that need to be sorted, edited, rewatched, refined, matched with the right music and checked before you ever see the finished product

And while George 🐶 an Bailon might think they’re senior management! neither of them has mastered downloading, sorting or editing yet😂
Chayse is an incredible help too — even from Mackay — and quite often doubles as FaceTime emotional support when things get hectic🤍

Outside K80 VP, Katie is also simply Mum. School lunches, dinners, washing, cleaning, family responsibilities and raising the little bloke you see causing chaos in our videos.

Being self-employed gives me the freedom to be there for Bailon while building something I genuinely love
And I’ve learnt I wouldn’t trade that for anything!

So when things occasionally go a little quiet online, it usually means the opposite is happening behind the scenes

We’re growing. We’re learning. We’re creating And we have some pretty exciting plans for where K80 VP goes next

Hopefully, one day, the team grows enough that Katie isn’t the only videographer, photographer, filmmaker, editor, admin department, content creator and chief computer-screen-starer 🤪
Until then, we’ll keep building it one job at a time📸

A little treat for the one who survives the K80 VP chaos with me😂🖤

A few weeks ago I decided Chayse deserved a little spoiling for all the hard work she puts in behind the scenes — and Apollo Hair Mackay absolutely delivered

They squeezed us in, made us feel so welcome, were incredibly affordable and had Chayse looking work ready in no time. ✨

Amazing staff, beautiful service and just genuinely good people
