Winter Blues from First Bay, Coolum Beach. ☀️💦🏝️

On Friday, I was on my second walk heading along the boardwalk, wishing myself into the water. Once I reached Point Perry and was looking down into First Bay, I knew I had to get my drone airborne. I have finally named her. It's taken almost a year. 'Lady Hawk' it is. One of my favourite movies and a tribute to a very noble bird. Small yet very efficient.

I'm not fond of launching in busy places, still a bit nervous, but north of the First Bay beach I found a quieter spot and soon had this stunning water captured for my Blue Coolum Series. Nature is truly the best artist. 🧡

PS: absolutely no filters needed 🤩

Queensland's winters, redefining cold. ☀️🐬🏝️

Here on the Sunshine Coast you might be rugged up at 6am but by mid-morning the Ugg's are well and truly kicked off and the shorts are back on. The water is crystal clear and looking spectacular, providing the perfect swimming puddles at Coolum main beach and the bays. 🧡

I was at Point Perry with my big camera but the shimmer water patterns saw me rush back to my car to get the drone up in windier conditions than I prefer. The point of view did not disappoint, and the Lady Hawk, aka DJI Mini 3, landed safely in my hand. 🙏

What was Owen Surf Art - Solearte Australia working on today with fellow sand artist from Bundaberg, Wendy Johnston? There is always much more behind a capture that the viewer knows. A photographer hopes to bring all the elements together but sometimes the story can not be contained to one image.
