As time ticks on what are the fond memories you hold dear in your heart? What is it that makes you smile in the dead of night as you remember a soft touch, a deep belly laugh, a sarcastic look from a sibling, holding your precious person by the cracking warmth of drum fire.
I'm so lucky to witness so many of these moments. In the space as a fly on the wall I see them and capture them so you have them forever and ever.
How lucky am I to get to see the joy of celebrating 70 years of life! See the chortles and snorts of family pranks and stories shared.
Thank you Krit Nichols for letting me into this special time. For allowing me to continue to document your incredible families journeys and growth. I am a lucky one for sure!

Once upon a time I met a gnome. This gnome, despite his fame and influence was kind and humble.

He taught children and grown-ups how to nurture and care for the environment. He was friends with the worms and the bees, and showed the children how to make nice homes for them.

The gnome showed them what plants liked to eat and how to feed them so they could grow and bloom and this made the children smile.

The children planted native bushes and garlic and felt the cool of the soil as they dug little holes for each one.

The gnome watched happily as the children made a mountain of compost and as they built he climbed to the top like a red-capped king!

The children cheered and laughed as he watered the compost tower and they danced and sang in the fallen leaves.

There's something so intensely timeless, so elegant and dreamy about black and white photos. It really pulls you into the story, into the unfolding moment, with an unmissable earnestness and honesty.
Without the complexities of colour, (though i will always looove my colour!) the highlights paint connection, shadow draws you to the subtlest glance, the difference between the two brining the story to life, vivid and real.

This session was utterly epic!!!

When we talk about pet photography we think ok, a doggo or two...but a cool dozen horses...now that's something different!

Your maternity session doesn't have to be all frills and lace. We can totally get our Yellowstone on and head for the high country and make it something unique and completely spectacular!

We live in an incredible world and there are so many breathtaking places out there! Let's make your session an adventure!!!

I knew it was going to be good but wasn't expecting to be so effected by my latest gig, but here we are!

Sometimes you get an opportunity to be a part of something really special. Something that fills you with hope, opens your eyes and schools you in a way that is both urgent, direct and loving.

Over the last three days I had the privilege of documenting the 30th year of LGBTIQ+ Health in Difference Conference which brought together the best and brightest heart and minds to talk about and tackle issues faced by the LGBTIQ+ community within the healthcare and aged care sectors.

It is an event that I wish I had known about when I worked as an art therapist within the ACT Health system. And as a q***r person working within multiple areas of the mental health field, I feel like I could have learnt so much and become a greater advocate for my community.

But I guess we come to these things when the time is right...

Throughout the conference I was gifted the opportunity to connect and converse with the most incredible people who are fighting tirelessly to change systems so embedded with homophobia and discrimination. Fighting to ensure legislation and policy enshrines protections for LGBTIQ+ people and transform discriminatory, hugely harmful, deeply traumatic practices, attitudes and culture.

The biggest thing that struck me as I flitted around the different talks, workshops and presentations, is at the core of everything is respect and dignity. From my observations that is the basis for all the work and advocacy those present have been striving for. If there is respect and dignity, and everything else follows.

Respect and dignity that's it... and really that's not an outrageous ask is it? It really shouldn't be that hard.

Happy Pride beautiful ones!!! 🌈

Being a proudly Q***r soul as well as running a loud and proud q***r and women centred business the significance of this month runs deep!

I've been so fortunate in my rainbow journey, with so much love and support as I bumbled around discovering who I am. As has my gorgeous, wonderful, divine brother, also a proudly rainbow soul with his beautiful partner (now my second brother!) But unfortunately not all are afforded that privilege and tragically the vicious tendrils of bigotry seems to be worming and weaseling their way into so many hearts and minds.

With so much division and hate, and rights being rolled back or outright stripped, the world desperately needs more love. And I'm not jusy talking about romantic love either. Basic human kindness and kinship, neighbourly love, love of community and connection.

Because we have a right to love and respect. As does everyone. The right to have, not just our relationships recognised and supported, but our right to exist with dignity and respect, without shame, fear or prejudice. To simply allowed to be, as we are, wholly, simply, extravagantly, quietly, flamboyantly, sparkly, gently, with grace, grit and glitter.

Isn't that something everyone one seeks? Irrespective of their orientation or gender identity?

So happy Pride my loves. Be you, be proud.

You are very very loved, and the world is a blessed place because you're in it.

What is unconditional love to you? What would it mean to love unconditionally or to be loved unconditionally? To be accepted wholly and truly and live without fear of being judged?

Imagine that you're a child, discovering the world, discovering yourself. What would it mean to know that no matter what you have someone who will love you regardless?

How would that shape who you are and who you become. Honest love, true love, love that sees the whole person and doesn't turn away.

Imagine the hights you'd be able to soar to!

I thought I'd make a quick post to introduce myself to those of you who don't know me!

I'm Katie! Hello! As we all do, i have many facets to who I am but the biggest and brightest would be being...

who loves running through wild places, holding safe spaces and creating art where YOU are at its heart and soul!

The buzz word at the moment is storyteller, but truly that's what I do. I tell stories (not verbally, I'm actually pretty rubbish at that! But pen and paper, that's a different thing!), I take what is fleeting and ephemeral and transform it into a tangible thing you can have and hold and smell and see over and over.

It doesn't hurt either. All you have to do is be you. Take a walk with your honey, have a picnic with you babes, watch a sunset and take a moment for you.

You deserve all that and more. And this is where you find it.
