Having fun with a small youtube lighting breakdown and playing around with the new Sirui 50mm T2.9 Full Frame anamorphic lens. My wife and I decided to do a little computer hacker scene and get creative with some lighting. These are just some screen grabs.
In my top scene using a COB light and full CTB gel for raising ambience and a small LED panel to wrap some light from the practical lamp in the background. Foreground at the left frame used a tube light to create depth with filming behind an object. Room also filled with haze and used a Nisi Allure Black mist 1/8 filter to get more halation. My wife had to control the camera while I had wireless follow focus and monitor in front of me making sure the focus and framing was on point.
Middle two scenes had only one tube light on the computer screen to mimic the computer light and placed on one side of the screen so it wasn't too flat while I shot on the dark side. Outside I used a hose to spray on the glass sliding door for rain effect and an LED panel with lighting mode on. Also a 2700k COB light "street lamp" vibe from outside to illuminate the rain and create some colour contrast and backlight in some close up shots. Room was still filled with haze in this scene and obviously a small torch to get some anamorphic flares. I also used diopters to get close up shots with the anamorphic lenses as their minimum focus distance was about 0.85m.
Last scene was an outside perspective of an on-looker, hand held with the same 2700K COB light shining in and I just switched the tube light on the computer to the other side to make sure I shot more on the dark side creating more contrast in the face. COB light inside was still on to create that room tone ambience.
