Our members learned how to direct models in a special 'hands on' educational session this month, led by Linda. In preparation for our upcoming Cosplay photoshoots, club members took the chance to experience being directed as well as giving direction, and a lot of fun was had by 'models' and photographers alike!

Club member Sammi Bul got creative at home this week with some still life compositions in preparation for this month's club competition. Nice work Sammi!

June 2026 Calendar of Events
Monthly Competition theme - Still Life

We have some great events coming up in June and we're inviting you to come along and see who we are, what we do and how we do it!

June 4 - Educational night - Club member Linda Scanlon shares her knowledge on photographing models in a special 'hands on' educational. After Linda's talk, we'll give members an opportunity to both direct, and be directed, as stand-in models in preparation for our photoshoot activities later this month.
7pm start, $3 members / $5 non-members

June 11 - Creatives - Light painting!
We're getting creative in the park outside our clubrooms this month with light painting! We'll be firing up our light-sticks and getting into some long exposure photography, so tripods are a must (if you don't have one, contact us - we may be able to assist).
6:30pm start, $5 members / $10 non-members

June 20 - Monthly member outing - Superhero photoshoot at the CCC clubrooms
Bam! Pow! We have a superhero themed photoshoot featuring Batman, Robin and Wonder Woman! Straight out of comic-con, these three cosplayers are going to model their way through a fun filled afternoon, with members being encouraged to share their photos with the trio.
This is a members only event, so if you want to join us, contact us, or come along to one of our June event and sign on!
2pm start, $10 for members, includes a snack and drink.

June 27 - Monthly member outing - Anime, Fantasy and Burlesque photoshoot at the CCC clubrooms
We have a mixed-theme photoshoot this month, with a Burlesque, Fantasy, and Anime cosplayer all set to model their way through a fun filled afternoon, with members being encouraged to share their photos with the trio.
This is a members only event, so if you want to join us, contact us, or come along to one of our June event and sign on!
2pm start, $10 for members, includes a snack and drink.

May 28 - Judging night - Still Life
Our theme this month is Still Life. Come along and see what our group members have entered, vote for your favourites, and get some inspiration for your own photography.
7pm start, $3 members / $5 non-members

We'd love to have you come along and see what Casey Camera Club is all about. Club rooms are located at the portable buildings in the Merinda Park Learning & Community Centre. Photographers of all ages and skill levels are welcome, and remember, each week's entry fee includes a snack and drink.

Croydon Camera House are running a black and white film photography workshop on June 20. If you've ever wanted to shoot and delveop your own film, this is an excellent chance to do so. At $95.55, including 1 roll of film, it's also great value.

We're getting out and about to photograph the best of autumn in the Dandenong Ranges.

The Casey Camera Club team photographed the Berwick ANZAC service last Saturday and paid our respects to servicemen and women past and present. Lest we forget.

Our next member outing is Saturday May 2 when we'll be exploring the Dandenong Ranges botanic gardens. Not yet a member? No problem - come join us this coming Thursday evening at our monthly competition night with our April theme 'Easter'.

Casey Camera Club is looking for new members. We meet on Thursday nights at Lynbrook Family & Community Centre and our current member base extends from teens to seniors and covers all levels of photography expertise from beginners to professionals. We'd love to have you join us!
