With Melbourne's National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) hosting some of the Terracotta Warriors as part of their Winter Masterpiece exhibition, I felt it was timely to post these images of the Terracotta Warriors taken in August 2005 in their natural habitat near the ancient Chinese city of Xian. These images were taken on my then Sony DSC-V1 camera, which was severely limited in low light and low contrast situations. I have done my best to recover as much detail as possible.

In November 2016, to celebrate the removal of level crossings and reopening of the train stations at Bentleigh, McKinnon and Ormond, steam trains were run for a day between Moorabbin and Caulfield, stopping at these three stations in conjunction with . So popular was the day, the steam train rides were repeated again in November 2017 as part of the annual Bentleigh Festival. It is hoped that the steam trains will become an annual event every November.

Vincent Van Gogh and the Four Seasons was a very special exhibition of the works of Vincent Van Gogh hosted by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) in Melbourne, Australia from 28 April to 12 July, 2017.
As the name suggests, the works were displayed in four separate areas representing the four seasons of Winter, Autumn, Spring and Summer (in that order).
The exhibition was immensely popular with long queues throughout the short period the exhibition was running.
Surprisingly, photographs were permitted. The photos in this album were captured on my mobile phone.
All images in this album were painted by Vincent Van Gogh and photographed with the permission of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

In 2016 I set myself a goal of posting one photo a day every day for all of 2016 as part of the Melbourne Photography Excusions (MPE) and Victorian Photography Collective (VPC) Project 366. Wherever possible the photo was taken on the day of posting or as close as possible to the actual day if weather or time constraints got in the way.
Each week had a separate theme. There were times where it was not possible to take an image that matched the weekly theme during that week and I had to resort to using an image from my archives.
As the purpose of this project was as a learning experience, some photos were of an experimental nature whilst I attempted to stretch the boundaries of my photographic skills. Feel free to browse through the album and comment on individual photos, As you progress through you will witness the development and improvement of my skills and maybe be inspired to attempt to stretch your own photographic skills.
This album was initially shared in a private group and is being recreated on this public page. Some of the images appear slightly out of sequence in this recreated album but appear within the correct weeks. To date I have added the following weeks for the themes as below.
