What’s happened here the night before?
The sand tells the full story of its visitors. When we choose a beach to visit and anchor next to, we look at the sand. Who were the visitors from the night before? Turtles, birds, crocodiles or human? It’s so welcoming to see tracks made by turtles laying their eggs and birds’!!!

In the remote Kimberley islands of Western Australia, our travels are full of these tracks made by wildlife. It’s raw, remote and rugged, just how the outback of Australia welcomes us. Most of all, it’s so pristine and so humbling.

Have you been to these islands before? This needs to be on your bucket list!

What happened here last night? The sand never lies. When we choose and visit a remote beach in the Kimberley, Western Australia, we can tell if the beach has welcomed crocodiles, birds, turtles or humans before us. Many islands have not received human feet so it’s such an exciting experience for us to choose which beach we would anchor at and visit!! Would you be excited if your footprints are the first you see on the sand? Note we avoid crocodile slides and visits😳🤩

Feeling so blessed to be enjoying such great weather out in the remote islands of the Kimberley, Western Australia. This is truly a top item in our bucket list every year. Secluded beaches, great seafood buffet 🦀🦪🦞🎣 on offer, amazing waterfalls, against incredible escarpments with rock art. Most of all, we love the absence of having to “rush” anywhere and sipping our coffees unhurriedly. Wouldn’t you like to live wildly peaceful like this?

Cooking by the beach is oddly underrated. We don’t do it often as the whole kitchen and pantry from the boat (or caravan) has got to come with us on the beach 😂. It is so satisfying, however, cooking on coals and enjoying beach-made fresh onion, cheese and garlic kulcha to have with our freshly caught fish. I can live out here everyday. It’s not for everyone, I know. Wouldn’t you like to live wild a bit? Who loves beach camping or beach cooking?

Breakfast of champions! My good friend calls me a rockstar and truly, I have to give it to her. I do know how to strut myself next to a rock! With a hammer and screw driver, these black-lip oysters are in peril! When we are out in the remote islands of the Kimberley, Western Australia, I like shucking them for breakfast! Natural, fresh, salty! How do you like yours? 🤩 share your special sauces 👇

Negotiating with a crocodile in English goes perfectly well!!! 🤩 We were in a creek dropping dilly pots to catch mud crabs with and our float was in danger - of being bitten and played with by a crocodile. If we lose our float, we lose our pot! They seem to love biting on anything that floats at the surface of the water (like our dilly pots float) 😂 Have you ever had an amusing encounter with wildlife?
