Deffy wasn’t the kind of dog that rushed up to you straight away. He needed a minute. But once he settled, he was soft, playful, and completely himself.

Spending time with him and April, you could see how much trust was there. The way he stayed close, the way he checked in, the way he just fit with her.

We kept things simple. A walk, his football, a few quiet moments in between. Nothing forced, just letting him move through it in his own way.

Looking back through these, it’s those small moments that stand out the most.

I had the honour of photographing this beautiful boy for April and her family, capturing the love, loyalty, and gentle spirit that made him so incredibly special.

Deffy fought hemangiosarcoma with a bravery that amazed everyone around him. He gave his family eight extra months of memories, cuddles, and precious time together — a gift beyond measure.

April, thank you for trusting me to preserve these moments. I hope these images will always remind you of the beautiful soul he was and the love you shared.
