A little more about me...
I was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1968, and brought up in a middle-class family by my parents who proudly provided all that they could. I am very grateful for their guidance, support and love. Being of Cypriot-Greek descent, I was brought up to respect and cherish my ancestral roots, but to be a proud Australian and to love the land we live in. Australia and Australian things are my inspiration for my passion in photography. I have been lucky enough to travel extensively and take photos throughout Australia and even to/in some amazing places abroad, namely Europe, Japan and the USA. My photography is my escape and it's my work, whether it be taking happy snaps at family 'do's' or a photographing a formal event or a bunch of flowers. As time goes by, my 'eye' widens, I see more than I had before and I get better at taking photos. I have dreams and aspirations of someday being recognised for this body of work and I hope you enjoy what you see so far. James Demetrie
