📍Puerto Natales- Patagonia Chile mini guide 🇨🇱

If you’re heading to Patagonia, don’t rush through Puerto Natales. Here’s what we loved:

☕ cute cafes worth stopping for
🍽 cozy restaurants after hiking days
🏕️ great camping options
🌄 amazing sunrise mountain views
🦙friendly Guanacos
🥾 perfect base for exploring Patagonia & Torres del Paine National Park

🚗 You should consider hiring a car as Torros Del Paine National Park is just over an hour drive from Puerto Natales town.

Our highlight was staying at for 4 days. It was so nice to wake up to beautiful views of Torres Del Paine.

Your El Chaltén mini guide- Patagonia 🏔️🥾

One of the most beautiful little towns we’ve ever visited, surrounded by unreal mountains and wild Patagonian landscapes.

We spent 4 nights here and honestly could’ve stayed much longer. Here are our top recommendations if you’re planning a trip:

Must do hikes:
•Laguna de los Tres (Fitz Roy viewpoint)
• Laguna Torre
• Mirador Los Cóndores & Las Águilas (short but worth it for sunset)
• Secret Waterfall

We booked Poincenot campsite for $20 AUD pp and hired our camping equipment from town. This meant we only had to wake up 1 hour before sunrise and not 4 😆

A few tips:
• Weather changes fast - layers are everything
• Start hikes early to avoid wind + crowds
• Bring snacks and extra patience for Patagonia weather doing its thing 😅

📌 Save this mini guide for your trip to El Chaltén PATAGONIA.

El Chaltén is Argentina’s trekking capital and one of those rare places that actually lives up to the hype. After 4 days here these are our must do tips 👇

🏕️ Stay: Plan at least 3–4 days. The weather is unpredictable and you’ll want buffer days to actually see the peaks.

🏔️ Do: The two iconic 20km hikes are Laguna de los Tres (base of Mount Fitz Roy) and Laguna Torre (with views of Cerro Torre). For shorter options, try Loma del Pliegue Tumbado (best panoramic views), Mirador Los Cóndores & Las Águilas (sunset) and Chorrillo del Salto (easy waterfall walk).

⛺️ Camping: For sunrise at Fitz Roy, book a night at Camp Poincenot ($20 AUD pp). You can rent full camping gear in town for under $100—super easy and worth it.

☕️ Best coffee: Brunch, Paisa High Mountain Coffee & Malbec and Macchiato are our top picks between hikes.

✨ Final tip: Start early, pack layers, and be patient with the weather—Patagonia doesn’t always reveal itself right away but when it does it’s unforgettable.
