Andrew Tunney Photography Introduces Secure eInvoicing for Cairns Clients

CAIRNS, QUEENSLAND, 11 September 2026: Andrew Tunney Photography now supports eInvoicing, giving eligible business and government clients a faster, more secure way to receive invoices for professional photography services in Cairns and across Far North Queensland.

Unlike a PDF attached to an email, an eInvoice contains structured invoice data that is exchanged directly between the supplier’s and client’s compatible accounting software through the secure Peppol network. This can reduce manual data entry, improve accuracy and help accounts teams process invoices more efficiently.

For clients of Andrew Tunney Photography, the new option provides a streamlined process from photography booking and project delivery through to accounts payable. It is particularly useful for corporate, commercial and government clients that already use eInvoicing-enabled software.

A Safer Way to Exchange Invoice Information

Cybersecurity and invoice fraud are growing concerns for Australian businesses. Peppol eInvoices are transmitted through approved access points using the participating buyer’s and supplier’s ABNs. According to the Australian Taxation Office, this lowers the risk of intercepted, fraudulent or compromised invoices compared with invoices sent through the post or by email. Only the supplier, buyer and their digital service providers can view the eInvoice.

Clients should continue applying their usual approval, verification and payment controls before paying any invoice.

The Australian Government appointed the Australian Taxation Office as Australia’s Peppol Authority in 2019. In this role, the ATO governs the Australian framework, accredits service providers and maintains standards designed to protect the network’s integrity. The ATO does not receive or view invoice information transmitted between businesses.

“Supporting eInvoicing is a practical improvement for our business clients,” said Andrew Tunney. “It gives eligible organisations a more direct and dependable way to receive invoices while reducing unnecessary administration.”

Traditional invoicing remains available for clients who do not use eInvoicing.

A quiet moment in Queensland’s Gulf Country.

I photographed this White-necked Heron (Ardea pacifica) beside the water near Normanton, Queensland, in August 2026. The long white neck, distinctive black spotting and slate-grey plumage make this large Australian waterbird immediately recognisable.

Also known as the Pacific Heron, the species is a nomadic wetland hunter. White-necked Herons move between waterways as conditions change, patiently searching shallow water for fish, frogs, crustaceans and insects. The species was formally described in 1801 and remains one of Australia’s most distinctive herons.

Today, the surrounding Gulf Savannah wetlands are renowned for birdlife, particularly around the seasonal floodplains between Normanton and Karumba.

At the Tourism Tropical North Queensland networking event at Crystalbrook Riley, great to see some familiar faces in Nikki Giumelli & Rob Dean among others 😎.

This wallaby stopped mid-crossing on a quiet dirt road, giving me just enough time to capture the warm light, rich colour and unmistakable character of Far North Queensland outback wildlife.

An agile wallaby, also known as a sandy wallaby. Agile wallabies are the most common macropod in northern Australia and can grow to around 80 centimetres in body length, with a tail of similar length. They generally forage on grasses and are most active around dawn and dusk, when drivers should take extra care near bushland, paddocks and open roads.

Agile wallabies have long been part of the tropical coastal landscape around Cairns, including the Barron River delta and Marlin Coast. Over time, farming and urban development have changed and fragmented parts of their habitat, making encounters like this both memorable and an important reminder to respect the region’s native wildlife.

This juvenile Comb-crested Jacana (Irediparra gallinacea) was photographed carefully foraging across floating lily pads, using remarkably long toes to spread its weight over the wetland vegetation.

Also known as the Lotusbird or Lilytrotter, the Comb-crested Jacana inhabits tropical and subtropical freshwater wetlands across northern and eastern Australia. Juveniles can be recognised by their softer brown, white and rufous plumage and a much smaller forehead comb than the striking red shield seen on adults.

The species also has an unusual family structure. A female may mate with several males, while the male builds the nest, incubates the eggs and raises the young. If chicks are threatened, the male can carry them beneath his wings to safety.

Captured mid-flight, this Whistling Kite displays the broad wings, separated flight feathers and aerodynamic control that make Australian birds of prey remarkable photographic subjects.

The Whistling Kite, Haliastur sphenurus, is a widespread Australian raptor commonly seen around wetlands, farmland and open woodland. Named for its unmistakable descending whistle, the species is an opportunistic hunter and scavenger that feeds on carrion, fish, insects and small animals. Adults can reach a wingspan of approximately 120 to 146 centimetres.
