Today marks one year since I lost an amazing friend. Grief is a quiet visitor; it slips in when you least expect it. But even in those painful moments, God still shows us beauty to notice and hold onto.

This is a gentle reminder of the gift of friendship. The colourful, vibrant people God brings into our lives, and the ones we have had to say goodbye to. Each of us carries our own God given splendor, and like flowers, we bloom, we fade, and one day we will say goodbye and go home.

🌸But the love, the colour, and the beauty we shared remain 🌸

I love noticing the little things in everyday life. Some are easy to see, and some are more hidden, but they all have something special if you take the time to notice. For me, photography isn’t about getting the perfect shot anymore. It used to be but lately I just enjoy the creative process and looking at the world in a Michelle kind of way. What have you been up to lately? What’s been sparking your creativity?

Title: The Human Birdfeeder
Location: Auckland, New Zealand

This black and white photos was taken in Auckland, New Zealand. It shows a real moment where a man is feeding birds. The birds fly close and land around him, trusting him completely. I love how the magpie keeps his distance waiting patiently to be fed too

The photo is simple but powerful! It shows kindness, peace, and a quiet connection between a human and nature. Without colour, you can really see the shapes, movement, and feeling in the moment. It’s a small act, but it says a lot.

My only regret is that I didn’t take more time to frame the shot better or find courage to ask if I could take a proper portrait. Even so, this candid moment tells a story all on its own and I still love it.

"Between Journeys"

I didn’t plan to take photos today but walking past the pub, this scene made me stop.

Was it the bicycle resting against the old wooden railing that gave me a sense of stillness and everyday life? Or was it the faceless man’s reflection in the window?

To me, it feels like a hidden story within the image. It made me wonder—was he inside, looking out at me passing by? Or is he just an unseen observer?

The beauty of a flower doesn’t come from being perfectly shaped or growing in perfect conditions. Its beauty comes from its strength, uniqueness, and the way it adds to the beauty of nature. In the same way, our own beauty isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being true to ourselves, showing kindness, and bringing something special to the world.

"Fiordland’s Whispering Horizons" is a name that perfectly describes the quiet magic of Fiordland National Park in New Zealand. On a recent scenic cruise through this breathtaking place, I was surrounded by towering mountains, misty peaks, and calm, deep waters. The boat moved gently, and all I could hear was the soft breeze and the distant sound of waterfalls. It felt like the land itself was sharing its secrets. The way the light danced through the clouds made everything feel alive and mysterious. It was a peaceful, almost otherworldly experience that I’ll never forget. Definitely a experience I would highly recommend 🩷

Blue banded bees are solitary bees and aren't found in typical bee hives, you might think they're rare and perhaps endangered. However, they are common in Australia. There are actually around 14 known species of blue banded bees, which are found in most states of Australia.
