This season has changed me more than I expected.
If I’m honest, motherhood has consumed me a little.
Mostly in the best possible way.

But there have also been days where I’ve felt completely unravelled by it.

Lately I’ve found myself noticing all the little things I wish I could bottle up and keep forever.

The way my girls reach for my hand.
The phrases Sailor says.
The little moments that feel ordinary now but won’t always be.

I think that’s why motherhood has changed the way I photograph families.

Because I know now how quickly things change.

If you’re a mum reading this, I’d love to know:

What’s something about this season of motherhood you’re in, that you didn’t expect?

I’ll be spending the next few days reading every comment.

I’ll be gifting a lifestyle session in the Northern Rivers to a family whose story resonates with me, and opening a handful of seasonal storytelling sessions this winter, exclusively for Northern Rivers families.

And if sharing publicly feels too vulnerable, my DMs are always open.

Bon x

Life lately as a travelling photographer, 6 months postpartum.
The last six months have felt like a lifetime and yet flown by.
I’ve spent them somewhere between airports and home, weddings and wake ups, chasing sunsets with a camera in one hand and a baby in the other.

I’ve photographed beautiful celebrations, watched families grow, travelled to places that still don’t feel real, and slowly found my way back to work after having our second daughter.
But if I’m honest, this season has looked very different to the one I imagined.

There have been long nights with a baby who doesn’t sleep. Early morning flights running on empty. Packing camera gear while packing snacks, spare clothes and comfort toys, all while simultaneously pumping. Missing home while away, and missing pieces of work while home.

Some days I’ve felt completely stretched between the two worlds I love most.
And yet, when I look back through these photos, I don’t see the exhaustion first.

I see my daughter turning four.
I see film photographs of ordinary days I never want to forget.
I see our annual tintypes, another little marker of time passing too quickly.
I see couples trusting me with their stories again.
I see families returning year after year and letting me document their lives as they grow.
I see my partner stepping up so I can keep doing what I love.

Mostly, I see a life that feels incredibly full.
Not balanced.
Not tidy.
Not always graceful.
Just full.

And while there are days I wonder how we’re keeping all the balls in the air, I know these are the days I’ll miss one day.
So here’s to six months of motherhood, travel, work, creativity, chaos, growth and very little sleep.

A little messy.
A little magic.
And a lot of gratitude.

Alex & Toby set the bar for chill. The whole day felt like a long lunch with your favourite people… just at a stunning heritage station and in the most beautiful dress.

Say hello to The Olivers 🖤 my newest fave people and honestly?? A whole entire vibe.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These two looked at a traditional wedding and said nah. Instead they packed up their guests, headed out of town, ditched the usual venue situation and said their vows overlooking THAT view. Like I’m sorry but can we talk about that backdrop for a second 😭 Rolling hills, a river winding through the valley, and a hydrangea grounded arbour... I genuinely could not have dreamed this up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No ballroom, no distractions, no fuss. Just two people completely in love, surrounded by everyone they love most, doing it entirely their own way. And then absolutely losing it on the dancefloor later that night.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was crying behind the camera behaviour fr. So blown away by these two and so grateful I got to be there for it. Luke and Kate, you are the real deal.

My first wedding back since having my little girl, and I couldn’t have asked for more. I pinch myself at every single wedding. This job is so incredibly special and I never take that for granted 🤍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These two had me completely smitten. Their day was so entirely them, no compromises, no doing things just because you’re “supposed to.” Just pure joy and intentionality in every single moment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And the film from this day?? DIVINE. Part two is coming and I cannot wait to share it 🎞✨
