Sometimes this is harder for my clients than actually doing the session itself. It reveals parts of you that you’ve been shying away from for so long.

Spoiler alert: it starts to get a bit emotional here.

PART TWO
Story of the “absolutely not!!” woman who finally did a photoshoot.

What was she most nervous about? Hating the photos.
A valid fear of many women. Many women who only see the end result of other women’s images, and not the courage it actually took for them to do it in the first place. Who see the images of other women and think “well they’re already beautiful so of course the photos will be” thinking the same statement won’t apply to them. But it does, every single time.
I photograph normal, every day women. Most of them have never had professional photos. Nobody knows what they’re doing when they first come to me.

And that’s exactly why they come to me. To delve into the uncertainty and trust the process. And what happens? They love them. Every single time.

The woman who was sure she would hate every single photo: “The ones I didn’t think I’d like, I actually really liked.”

You heard it here first.

After almost 6 years of asking to photograph my mum and being met with “absolutely not!” every single time, she finally bit the bullet and did a session with me.

To all the women who think they won’t photograph well, who are convinced they’ll hate their photos, who believe that they have nobody to give them to so what’s the point… To the women who think “I could never look like that!”… the women who are scared, nervous, and need the push from a woman who has BEEN YOU.

Today is a milestone day for me because it marks exactly one year that I have been a full time photographer! 😳
A year ago today I finished up my retail management role and decided it was time to commit all of my energy to making people feel good about themselves and I haven’t looked back for one second!!!! I am SO blessed to have such a rewarding job that I wake up and LOVE to do every day.
When they say you don’t work a day in your life when you love your job - they are RIGHT ❤️
Thank you to every single person who’s been in front of my camera to help make this happen.
Being self employed can be incredibly challenging; it’s scary and it’s risky. But it truly is a dream come true.
