Taken by Turners has retired👇

And earlier than expected, due to some health issues.

A few years ago I had my first major episode of Acute
Angle Closure - Glaucoma
at a wedding event.
For the longest time they'd always return the worst after a long work day, having me in the ER many nights.

I stopped dealing with it for a bit, I thought I was okay.
Then after the last wedding it returned.

Physically, we can't shoot weddings anymore. Unless we want to risk me being bedridden for days and the possibility of going blind forever.

…and going blind is kind of a big fear of mine!

I remember when I first found out I had this, Novaria was a little over a year old.
I went home and picked her up and just looked at her face for as long as I could fearing that one day I couldn’t.

When your eye doc says “take it seriously, you can go fully blind within 4hrs of an episode and never get your vision back” you do not mess around with your health!!

Pushing my body to the point of potentially being blind forever is just not worth it for us. As much as we’ve loved our couples, and made lots of great memories in the wedding world.

(Also, finding a babysitter to watch 2 kids for 16hrs is a whole other struggle)

SOOOO..

Now we are devoting this page to our ~just for fun~ shoots.

We are not leaving the art form all together, and we do still work as photographers at

But bo***ir is a lot shorter of days and less physically demanding than weddings.

Still feels so odd to leave something you spent years building.

But, hey.

Now time for the lil shoots that keep the cup filled and the creative itch from spreading (another health issue LOL)

Having peace in the unknown🕊️

Since we met our life has been drastically changing throughout each year

In 6 and a half years we have..
-Traveled to 7 countries together
-Eloped
-Lived in 6 different houses
-Had two kids
-Dealt with some crazy health issues
-Ran 1 commercial studio
-Had 7 different jobs
-Got robbed twice (negative about 50k)
-Tried out WAY to many random side hobbies

We are always changing our minds, moving in new directions, and growing into different people.

We can’t believe all that we’ve been through together and where we have ended up.

There is no way we could have predicted this life, so there is no telling where we will be in the future.. or even tomorrow

But we are excited for whatever adventure it will be!🤪

Bookings are closed👀

With backgrounds as a painter and musician, both with unrelenting standards…

We got into weddings with the desire to be creative

And as much as it’s allowed us the space to create and grow as artists, it’s also killed our passion a bit.

I don’t know if our creative souls could handle one more “I love your style but…” message.

Because you know what we shamefully did for so long..

Reply with “yeah, we can change that for you.”

And so we started doing more and more of a style that wasn’t us just to get more bookings.

So with the arrival of our new baby, (and the difficulty of finding a babysitter for 16+ hrs for two little ones) it seems like the perfect time to take a step back from weddings for a while.

We want to use this page for creative photography, where we get back to sharing only the stuff we are passionate about.

And maybe we will open our books back up in the future!!

But for right now, our hearts are in bo***ir!

Since creating our cups have felt so full. We’ve been 100% doing what we love and the response has been so overwhelming. It just feels so right for us in our life right now and with our passion to help others see their worth.

We still have a few weddings left with some super lovely people and we will pour our hearts into those.

You’ll see a bit more wedding content on here, but it will also be turning into a page where we do creative ~just for fun~ non-wedding shoots.

Excited for the future and whatever the heck we get up to🤪

Lots of rain, tears and rainbows over the weekend🌧️

Not just tears from the couple and guests..

The speeches had me trying SO hard to hold back from being a balling embarrassing mess!!

A video came on with messages from loved ones from overseas, and that is my weak point. I feel sooo much for everyone who has given up time on this earth with family and friends to create a life somewhere else.

There is not a moment that passes that I am not missing my family.

AND IT DIDN’T END THERE.

After that was all done, with tears filling up my eyes already.

The brides mum pulled out her childhood stuffed animal and gave it to her.

As a mum with a little girl who has her favourite stuffies this just made time feel like it flashed before my eyes.

These vulnerable, real, and humanising parts of the day are always my favourite.

Riette and Max are an easy couple to love and feel inspired by.

The way they embraced the rain was inspiring in itself, but they are just so carefree and completely themselves. You can tell they have something so unique and special and have so much love around them in their lives.

We both left this wedding feeling truly blessed we were the ones who got to capture it.

We did get asked multiple times if we had insurance, and to that the answer is yes. We will 100% be standing out in the rain risking all our gear for the adventure!!!🙌
