7 years ago today I moved to Geelong on a whim from Wagga, not knowing anyone (Bipolar diagnosis makes sense now 😂😂)

With a wild journey of Bipolar, endometriosis, sobriety, histamine intolerance just to name a few 😂😂😂 I’ve certainly learned a lot about myself during my 20s here.

In 2021, after a surgery and a bad life event, I moved back to NSW for 2 months and for the first time brought on subcontractors, because I wasn’t ready to give up on what I was building in Geelong. I’ll always be grateful for those who worked alongside me when my body and mind couldn’t do it alone.

The last 18 months saw 30–50 shoots every month with only 8 weeks of proper leave, with 98% of those captured by me 😅 Work was how I got through each day. Now I’m on the other side of my health, I can breathe. More balance, more adventure, more time with family and friends.

31 very soon and ready for whatever’s next. Travelling to other states for work is something I really want to do more of!

Just a 4’11 girl getting a taste of what it feels like to be tall 😂

Progress looks different for everyone.

Since we’re all about capturing progress, it’s always fun to document my own.

Lately, I’ve been doing things I never imagined I’d have the confidence to try growing up. Living with a disability still tests me in a lot of ways, even with things like heights (not just because I’m short hahaha). I’ve always leaned toward the lowest risk option because we’ve worked so hard to get me to where I am, and any chance of injury can have a bigger impact.

Even the “simple” things can be physically hard for me. I was in a lot of pain standing on a grated platform for 3.5 hours, something some people may never experience or think twice about.

But it’s been fun pushing that. Trying new things, even if they seem simple to someone else.

I have been very poor at posting on my feed this year. Everyone is just keeping me super busy on the tools! We’ve captured some amazing projects!

So grateful for the ongoing support. Our books are open for the rest of the year. We still have some June availability! EOFY is fast approaching so get in touch if you need to secure anything before then.

I thought I’d share a bit more about who’s behind Carlon and Co, and a little more about my disability too.

It shapes how I work, how I see things, and why accessibility in content creation matters so much to me.

Our new website is live, so you can head there to explore my work and see what I’ve been building. We might be more quiet on the socials these days. But that’s because we are constantly creating for our clients!

This rebrand has already opened up so much. Growth, change, and a new chapter that feels aligned with where I’m heading.

Your response over the last few weeks has genuinely meant a lot.

We’re just getting started. Looking forward to what the rest of the year holds
