Today we celebrate every father figure. I feel so grateful and honoured to be the one photographing these moments with you all, dads, step-dads, grandads, and everyone who’s shown up in that role. And for those who can’t be with their loved ones today, whether by distance or loss, I’m thinking of you too. ⭐️

It’s always a special moment watching a grandparent hold a grandchild. I hope one day this little Bub holds this photograph, looking at their grandfathers hands. A time capsule to a moment where their feet could fit in the palm of his hands 🥹

Not knowing who you would be. Not knowing who they would be. Not even knowing their name yet.
Just knowing, that everything was about to change.

These photographs hold a version of you
that only existed for a little while.

Before you knew their face.
Before you knew their voice.
Before you became their mum.

And then you did, and the next stage began. 🤎

Postpartum is a vulnerable time. Every part of you is different, and even the most body positive people can feel self conscious. My goal is always to make you feel comfortable and to capture your postpartum experience in a way that feels safe.

You don’t always appreciate these images in the moment. But I promise, when your little one turns 2, or 5, or 10, you’ll look at them with so much love for yourself. You won’t believe they were ever that small.

I’d love to hear from mums (or dads) with older kids: what do you wish you’d captured at this stage but didn’t?

I never had photos taken at home with either of my girls after they were born. I wish I did. We don’t live in either of those houses anymore, and they’re both well beyond the newborn stage now.

A random assortment of mundane moments from my days between shoots.

Sink image inspired by the amazing Cara Mand reminding me that one day my sink won’t be filled with a cereal bowl and half finished coffee and my house will be quiet! I’ll miss these little mundane moments the most.
