Love working with you The Photo Tin
The proposal:
Katie: "I suspected it when Amos came over to my place on the Friday, excited for the things we had planned. I had a hunch he was proposing because he doesn’t put this much effort into a whole weekend too often. He told me we would be going to the restaurant where he asked me to be his girlfriend, on the Saturday night and then to the beach for the sunrise on Sunday morning. These two activities sounded pretty special so I definitely thought it could happen at either. We went out for dinner and it didn’t happen, which my mum tells me I was bummed about (but I don’t remember being disappointed haha!). Then we got back to my house on a rainy Saturday night, December 4th. We were indecisive about going the next morning due to rain and Amos had to cover it up, so he kept asking if I still wanted to go. I was being weird because I wanted to go thinking he might propose and didn’t want to ruin it, but also was a little hesitant about even being able to see the sunrise with the rain. Amos asked me what I was thinking/ why I was being so weird. I didn’t want to tell him what I thought but eventually he got it out of me, as he always does, and I told him I had a feeling he was gonna propose tomorrow. Now, let me clarify that Amos CANNOT lie. He gives everything away. And when I mentioned this, he kept the calmest, straightest face and acted innocent. So I just thought I had it all wrong and he wasn’t proposing. We woke up the next morning, went to Burleigh and found ourselves a cute little private beach where he laid down a blanket… and down got on one knee. I was overwhelmed with joy and excitement that this was the start of forever with the man of my dreams."
Budget:
"We were on a major budget and we were able to do the whole wedding for around $7000 all up. The flowers were dried bunches from a local florist in Coomera. My Aunty, who is a hairdresser, did my hair; I did my own make up; the venue did the decorating; I made my dress; my Aunty made the cake and we plugged an iPod in for music. It was all very simple, not too over the top but it was absolutely perfect."
Memorable part of the day:
"Both Amos and I loved being married in the temple. It was the highlight of the day for a few reasons. One being that it was the moment where we felt the most peace and quiet. It was just us and we could fully enjoy the moment without being distracted by all the bells and whistles."
"There were so many little hiccups along the way but my bridesmaids just smoothed everything over and made the day perfect. I am so grateful for them."
How was your experience with your photographers?:
"Absolutely amazing. They knew what they were doing and I felt like I’d known them forever, but had only met in person at the wedding."
