Today, we’ve got something special to share with you. Our very first digital product, a film lighting guide!

Over the years, I’ve been asked more questions about lighting than anything else. Which is why I’ve dedicated over a year to creating a comprehensive guide to help filmmakers and photographers master the art of lighting. Our amazing YouTube community were instrumental in making this guide possible, their feedback, questions and support have inspired me every step of the way.

When I look back on my time in film school, I often wished for a practical, easy-to-reference guide that could help me apply the concepts I was learning, on-set. That’s why I created Film Lighting Fundamentals. It’s the resource I wish I had when I was starting out—packed with actionable tips, clear illustrations, and video links to help master the fundamentals.

Wow!! Our short film “The Ocean Calls”, which was made to introduce the journey of the feature film “Against The Tide”, recently screened at the down in Melbourne. We’re thrilled and humbled to learn that the judges honoured the film with Best Documentary! Thank you Robin and the festival team for shipping us this absolutely stunning, hand-blown glass trophy! It truly is a work of art!! We wish we could have been there in person to view the films and meet everyone on the night. Hopefully we’ll be able to make it down next year!

Wow, it's officially done! Against The Tide premiered over the weekend and we couldn't be prouder! Thank you, thank you, thank you, to everyone who came along to watch the film, we are so grateful to have such a supportive and engaged audience!

It was surreal to see the film on the big screen and to hear the audience gasp, laugh or fall silent. It's been a massive journey!

Thank you so much to our Editor Christopher Sampson, without you this film would still be 200 hours of footage, sitting in folders on a hard drive. Thank you also to my amazing husband David for his hours of work behind the camera, sleepless nights in the grading suite and his relentless feedback, pushing me to my limits. Thank you to my family for allowing me to follow them around for the better part of 3 years and for your honesty and authenticity, it shines through in this beautiful film. I love you ❤️

Thank you to the Gold Coast Film Festival and HOTA for hosting us and making the entire process a wonderful experience.

Also thank you to Celeste from Novasoma Photography for capturing this amazing moment for us!

ABC Australia Gold Coast Film Festival Creative Path Films Smith Family Sailing

Last night Lauren and I attended the opening night of the Gold Coast Film Festival, and what a night it was!

We’re so thrilled to have not just one, but two films premiering this year!

Our very own feature documentary Against The Tide is screening on Saturday the 29th at 1pm.

It will follow on from an industry panel on the journey of storytelling through documentary, where Lauren (who directed the film) will be taking the stage!

The second film, Girls’ Night Out, was directed by our good friend and long time collaborator Damian Hussey, on which I was privileged to be the films Cinematographer. It is screening on Monday the 24th at 6.30pm.

If you’re free on either night, please come along to see the films and support two locally produced independent features!!

It has been such a blast working with such an amazing team on . We are half way through the shoot and we are into the super exciting stuff this week.

We will be shooting in an amazing location and playing with colour and some really interesting lighting!

Wow! We are so excited to hit this YouTube milestone!

It’s was only a little over a year ago that we started our channel and we are so grateful that our content has reached and helped so many people!
