A single sow can have up to 3 litters a year. Feral hog reproduction rates are among the highest of any large mammal in North America. A single sow can reach breeding age before she's even a year old and produce up to three litters annually, with an average litter size of 5-8 piglets. That reproductive speed is why feral hog populations can double in size in as little as four months.
