A moment for the umbrellas in a session? ☔️✨

This gorgeous family has officially experienced both ends of the weather spectrum with me. The first maternity was a heatwave, fast forward to baby number two, and we’re standing in the rain with umbrellas overhead, dodging puddles and embracing the weather as it came.
Both sessions were absolute magic.

A little reminder that perfect photos don’t come from perfect weather. They come from the people in them, the memories being made, and saying “why not?” when the rain starts falling.
Every season tells a different story, and this family has worn both beautifully. 🤍

We walked down for a lovely afternoon at the beach, sun started shining, kids started playing. 5 minutes in we get rained out, had to run home and what do you do about it? Laugh cause tells you to. The funnest, impromptu, “what’s next” type session I have ever had. I left with a full SD card, a few extra smile lines, looking like a drowned rat and covered in paint. This was a win…

I get asked a lot, “what age is best for family photos?”
And I really struggle to answer it! every single season holds something special.

The tiny newborn scrunch and sleepy cuddles.
The chaotic toddler years where nobody sits still for more than 2 seconds and bubbles are life.
The missing teeth, growing personalities, big belly laughs and hands that somehow keep getting bigger in yours.
The teenage years, the quieter moments, the in-between stages that don’t feel “picture perfect” at the time but one day become the photos you treasure most.

There never really is a “perfect” age.
Because family photos aren’t about waiting until life slows down, until everyone behaves perfectly, or until you feel completely ready. They’re about documenting your life exactly as it is right now. the love and connection of season you’re currently living in.

One last season of sandy toes, quiet cuddles and soaking in their first born before life gets a little fuller and even more beautiful.
There’s something so special about capturing these in-between moments — the waiting, the excitement, the love that’s already overflowing before baby has even arrived.

Mums day 🫶🏻 The mums in the thick of it, the soon to be mums, the multiples mums, the single mums, the step mums, the angel mums. The mums missing their own mums, the women holding onto hope become a mum, the ones I have witnesses become mums, the working mums and the stay at home mums and all of the in-between.
To the ones who show up endlessly, love deeply, carry so much, and somehow still make space for everyone and everything else — you are seen.
Thank you for allowing me into such meaningful seasons of your lives and trusting me to capture the love, connection, chaos, tenderness and little moments that make your story yours.
Motherhood looks different for everybody, but every story deserves to be remembered. This day is for you 🤍🫶🏻
